A frigate developed by DSI, the Index-Class is a series of star-ships dedicated to protecting larger vessels such as capital ships or haulers. Not overly light nor overly heavy, this ship is the perfect Goldilocks candidate to complete your mission, whatever it might be.

Index-Class ships are primarily designed for space, but a mix of Ion and Hydrogen thrusters ensure that if the mission dictates it, the ship can move within atmosphere.

This particular model is the MK-II chassis of the Index series of ships. With a rework of the ship's bow, the design now calls for better maneuverability and handling as well as a slightly increased operation time. This is in part due to the sacrifice of the Diviner Jolt Cannon that was included with the MK-I chassis, which was replaced by a simpler proprietary loadout of three artillery cannons and four rocket pods. Automated defenses were improved as well, with a total of four added artillery turrets and twelve autocannon turrets for better protection against all the Great Beyond has to offer.

The "Melody's End" was one of the first of the MK-II chassis to take to the stars. Crewed by an independent group of mercenaries named, "Sweet Medley," the ship served in multiple strike force excursions in the darker parts of explored space. However, after Sweet Medley went AWOL for a period of 72 hours during a routine operation in the outer belt, rescue teams managed to find the "Melody's End." Oddly enough, however, not a single crew mate was found, and the only evidence of a struggle was the damaged port side exterior airlock hatch.

Note: Two mods were used in the making of this craft, though they are entirely optional. This craft is perfectly serviceable without them.

[VSI] Recolorable Thrusters by Darkmist was used to change the color of all thrusters to the light blue glow seen in the thumbnail.

Adjustable Thruster Multipliers by Meridius_IX / Lucas was used to increase braking performance by a factor of 3x.
