Darktide Mods [EN]. How to install/uninstall
By xsSplater
Did you know that Darktide has mods? It does and there are a lot of them.
Do you know which maps you haven't completed yet for Penances? You won't know without the help of a mod.
While you were typing a message on a mission, were the heretics hitting you from all sides? There is a mod for that.
Want to know how many coins or resources your characters has without going to the hub? The mod can show.
The game freezes, but it's not clear whether it's a ping or your good old computer does not pull the settings? There are mods for displaying ping and simplifying graphics, even for potato-PC.
I'll help you get into modding a bit...
PS: You can install mods and you won't get banned for it.

Darktide Mods

I am very grateful to my comrades for donations:
Maxim, Manul, Shvakh, Draks and Shell...

And also everyone who likes/dislikes this guide and rewards it with Steam points.

Attention!
Remember! After each game update, you need to run the file toggle_darktide_mods.bat in the game folder again to activate the mods.

Darktide's Modding Policy[forums.fatsharkgames.com]
You'll only be banned for:
  1. Using mods that directly affect unmodded players’ experience of the game and/or are used to grief other players.
Examples: Speed hacks, outright cheating in missions, etc.
  2. Using mods that affect the stability/performance of the game service.
  3. Using mods that devalue other players’ investments (time or monetary) in the game.
Examples: Bypassing progression, penances or contracts, unlocking premium cosmetics and currencies in the game service.
  4. Toxic behaviors were reported as an indirect result of using mods.
Mods will have access to the same authentication level as the regular game has which means that mods are perfectly capable of managing inventories, currencies and characters as they see fit, including but not limited to:
  1. Deleting characters
  2. Selling or buying items
  3. Spending premium currency
The use of mods is, therefore, to be done at players' own risk. Fatshark will not be able to help with accounts losing gear, character or other data as a result of using Mods.

Use your head and watch what you install on your game, read reviews and so on.
What mods can do...
With mods you will be able to check the Armoury store and Contracts, Reroll stats on items and go to Inventory right on the Character selection screen without going to the Hub and bypassing long loading screens...
...although now they will have some information about the lore of the Warhammer 40k universe, as well as some useful tips for the game. To start the Mission, you still need to enter the Hub, where there is a list of missions ordered by level.
Go to the Mod options menu [F4] and tweak the mods if you want. You can disable unnecessary mods here.
Mods add a lot of useful information that is missing (temporarily I hope) in the game itself, including a ping indicator, a (almost accurate) Scoreboard where you can see your game stats, for example.
Mods also add a lot of handy features: Hotkeys for various stores and menus, auto-acceptance of Contracts and collection of rewards for them...
...they also give you the ability to move your HUD elements [F3], fine-tune their color, size and position to your liking [F8]...
...or completely turn off the HUD for taking screenshots [F2] and to fly everywhere.
And much more.

Sort Brunt[www.nexusmods.com] - Sorts Brunt's Armory to keep similar items together. Normally, the items in Brunt's Armory are sorted by unlock level. This results in unintuitive weapon grouping, which makes it more difficult to find a specific kind of weapon. With SortBrunt, the items in Brunt's Armory are sorted by their ID in the code. This means they are vaguely alphabetical in English (e.g. Autoguns before Lasguns), but more importantly, this ensures that similar items are grouped together.

Spectator HUD[www.nexusmods.com] - You can see the team status HUD after death (spectator mode).

You can individually tweak the appear delay, appear speed, vanish delay, and vanish speed. By default, the mod makes the stamina bar appear instantly and fade out slowly after a small delay. Additionally, you can force the stamina bar to always be visible or to always be hidden.
Status Colours[www.nexusmods.com] - This simple mod lets you specify the colour of the icon that appears in a player's frame when they are under a status effect, e.g. when they're down, or a hound has pounced them.
Needs fixing.
True Level[www.nexusmods.com] - Reads recorded exp earned after you hit the max level, and displays the actual level you can reach.
TruePeril[www.nexusmods.com] - Allows you to remove the interpolation/decay of the value on the Psyker's peril gauge and to show up to 2 decimal places of the peril value.
Volley Fire Timer[www.nexusmods.com] - See a timer showing how long you have to get your next kill to chain the veteran sharpshooters volley fire ability. All features have customizable position, size and color.
Which Book[www.nexusmods.com] - You can set individual icons for each side mission type and configure their colors on the mission board. More than 20 icons are available (loadout preset icons + nurgle symbol).
Who Are You[www.nexusmods.com] - Show the account name next to their character name. Currently it works on team panel hud only.

Redownload version by 8.08.23 OR recreate mod_load_order.txt file using SL_EN_mod_load_order_file_maker.bat, because I mistakenly put the wrong file in the archive.

Alright, I can confirm that running the toggle_darktide_mods.bat file on on a windows install of the game (say, laptop or desktop) will modify (or is it create? I didn't check) a file called "bundles database.data" in the "bundles" folder. This file is the one you want moved over to the bundles folder on the Steam Deck. I don't know if you need the mods to be the same on both PC and SD, but I did.

Of note: I experienced an initial crash when I started up after this. After that it started up just fine.

I can thank Badwin on discord for helping me with the details. I also used Warpinator to transfer the files without much fuss.
Warnstaff 14 Jul, 2023 @ 6:00am
And again, thank you for your help in pointing me towards the discord :)
Warnstaff 14 Jul, 2023 @ 5:58am
I already have an update! I haven't tried it myself yet but a user on discord who also mods on Steam Deck uses a windows install on their desktop/laptop and simply copies the files over to the Steam Deck.

I personally am going to use a program called Warpinator for this since it's light weight and no fuss. Will have to do it for every update, so it's an extra step, but modding steam deck is possible. I'll be doing it myself here shortly.
Warnstaff 14 Jul, 2023 @ 5:10am
I had no idea that discord existed. Thank you!
