Humpback - Iron Wolf

Description
Lore:

A former military vessel, the WH4-L3 'Humpback' has been outfitted to withstand most of the dangers in deep Europa. Her relatively high velocity is offset by low maneuverability. As she's still boasting an older model reactor, power needs to be supplemented by a backup battery array or the crew will find themselves unable to run all of the new equipment.

This ship, the 'Iron Wolf', is owned and operated by an independent captain who has tailored it to their specific needs over the years. It boasts an improved crew quarters arrangement for long voyages, an expanded cargo capacity to help make ends meet, a battery toggle in the captain's command room, and a larger frontal ballast with a stronger pump system. As well, the more common Railgun has been replaced by a Flak Cannon with several shelves of ammo, trading greater utility for a less complicated weapon system.

--------------------

Details:

This is the Iron Wolf, a modified Humpback I use for solo play. It's still a basic Humpback, with the weak reactor and old battery system. There aren't any big, overpowered changes or powerful items added. Most of it is just a combination of personal taste and QoL changes for playing alone with bots, as well as being able to start a new campaign with a minimum of fuss.

--------------------

Changes:

1. Price set to 10,000 MK. This is so you can begin a campaign with this sub if you set starting money to maximum in the settings. You will then be completely broke. Good luck!

2. Removed 'hidden' cargo section and door in front ballast, combined the two rooms into one larger ballast section.
- 2a. Swapped small pump in front ballast for a large pump.
- 2b. Navigation console was set to reflect changes in buoyancy.

3. Sectioned off the captain's command room from the gunnery section via a door.
- 3a. Added some cosmetic things in the command room for fun.

4. Moved batteries and junction boxes into a tighter cluster in order to add three more cargo shelves (total of 16 crates).
- 4a. Original cargo shelf down in engineering filled with empty containers for looting (and to make cargo missions a little less lucrative).

5. Added a navigation console battery toggle with on/off light and visible % remaining on nearby monitor. Charge rate must still be handled via default terminals.

6. Replaced Railgun with Flak Cannon (I don't find Railguns very useful with bots).
-6a. Replaced Railgun shell racks with ammo shelves.

7. Added alphabetized storage containers to fabricator storage cabinet for QoL.

8. Added a linked output locker under the defabricator for QoL.

9. Moved medical fabricator down one deck next to the default fab/defab arrangement.

10. Crudely duct taped a charging station to the dive room junction box for convenience.

11. Cosmetic changes to the medical bay. It is now a crew quarters with a medical and toxins cabinet.

12. Most lights and other fiddly bits set to non-interactable (I don't like seeing a bunch of useless items show up when I move my mouse around in bad situations). Easy change in sub editor if you prefer.

13. Oxygen Detectors added to every room except for both ballasts and the airlock. This was mostly just done for fun.

14. RegEx systems applied to super capacitors. Supercaps will automatically set themselves to 100% charge rate if below full charge and set themselves to 0% whenever fully charged. Because I rely on bots and have no other players to lend a hand, it's more annoying than interesting to constantly set supercap charge rates. With the low-powered reactor this can catch you by surprise, so be ready with the batteries during combat.

15. Ship inventory set to manual. All containers manually filled. This was primarily done so everything was already sorted how I liked it. Amount/quality of items is about average for a vanilla playthrough start.

16. Various cosmetic changes. Some rust and damage detailing. Ship name and shipyard ID. Various bits and bobs to add some life to the ship.

--------------------

Conclusion:

This is the custom Humpback I use for solo play. It was made with bots in mind, but it's perfectly fine for group play as well. Most of the changes are just convenience ones, primarily things that mitigate the pain of having to rely on bots for everything.

This sub is provided as-is. If you notice any problems or glaring issues, please let me know and I will do my best to fix them. Otherwise, I won't be making any major changes to it.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

@Zae57 All changes are listed in the description. And a few hours.

How did you tweak it, and how long did it take you?
