Description
Floating Island of Legends

NO DLC'S REQUIRED!

**** WARNING ****: If you plan to use the Kingdom Hearts mod, be sure to remove all items from the large chests in the basement on the island. It seems all items will be replaced by KH items!

A strange phenomena has appeared above the plains of the Whiterun Hold, just a little west of Fort Greymoor. It can't be missed and can be seen from great distance. An island up in the sky, defying gravity. Or, is it held in place by the large blue beam, or maybe by those four floating fuelless fires? On the ground there is a strange well, that seems to be the source of the blue beam.
The well is a door that leads onto the island. On the island is another well, sided by two blue fires, that will lead you back to the plains.

On the island you will find everything you need:
  • a large terrace with a large outdoor kitchen
  • a great view into all directions from the edge of the island
  • a covered-in campfire with chopping blocks to sit on
  • a smelter and a forge
  • a nice farmhouse, fully decorated with noble furniture
  • on the porch a tanning rack, anvil, armor workbench and sharpening wheel
  • inside a double bed, dining table, various foods and drinks
  • in the basement a small library
  • in the cellar an alchemy and enchanting workbench
  • named barrels for soul gems and ingredients
  • seven large non-respawning chests
  • two large cabinets with gadgets
  • two large book cases with all the skill and spell books
The library is something special, containing lots of old Germannic, Nordic and Teutonic legends and sagas:
  • The Poetic Edda (35 volumes)
  • The Heimskringla (16 volumes)
  • The Icelandic Sagas (19 volumes)
  • Old Norse Poems (16 volumes)
  • The Prose Edda (2 volumes)
  • The Teutonic Myths and Legends (42 volumes)
  • The Volsunga Saga (6 volumes)
  • Beowulf (3 volumes)
  • and maybe more to come
On the table lies an index of all the books.

NO KNOWN CONFLICTS WITH OTHER MODS, except my own mods that add the various legends and sagas to the game (Poetic Edda, Prose Edda, Heimskringla, Teutonic Myths and Legends, Icelandic . That is, unless another mod uses the same location on the plains or in the sky!

The floating island has not been navmeshed (yet). So, for the time being, you can't take any follower or spouse to the island. Also, distant view may look odd sometimes, when the upside down mountain seems to be missing.

Rev. 1 (08/05/2014):
Hopefully solved all the gaps between the clifs on the island surface and restored some floating plants and trees.

Added to the library, including one new book case and updated index book:
  • The Kalevala (52 volumes)
  • The Danish History (11 volumes)
Added to the island surface:
  • a small Dwemerlike pond with a fountain
  • a few tree stumps and logs
  • a few beehives
  • various insects
  • a doomstone circle
  • additional lighting and fires
  • a roofing for terrace and outdoor kitchen
  • two racks with fish, meat and herbs
  • named food barrels: fish, meat, vegetables and mead (non-respawning)
  • other named barrels: ingots, ore, hides and pelts, leather (non-respawning)
  • a chest drawer with various wines (non-respawning)
  • and (ofcourse) a shrine of Talos
Replaced the well door and blue beam to direct straight to the bottom point of the island, with a map marker that shows on your map instantly.

Rev. 2 (08/17/2014):
Various cosmetic changes, such as solving texture bugs.

Library:
  • New book case with The Nibelungenlied (39 volumes)
  • On the table the Journal of Ysmir the Fair-Haired
Cellar:
  • All treasures made static, can't fall down anymore
  • Various new treasures, such as a sigil stone
  • 4 display cases with amulets of the nine divines
  • the 10 dragon claws and an elder scroll (all static!)
Added a second smaller island. The surface of this island has pools (like in the Eastmarch) and quite an amount of jazbay and creep cluster, and a few steam jets.

Added a third smaller island. The surface of this island has a pond and marsh cliffs. Small fish swim in the pond and above it you will find dragonflies. Around the pond on the cliffs lots of giant lichen, fungal pods, deathbells.

QUEST: THE TREASURE OF PRINCE ATTREBUS MEDE
Read the journal of Ysmir the Fair-Haired (on the table in the library). This will start the quest, without quest markers. The quest's dialogues are not voice acted.

If you have any ideas for future updates, don't hesitate to post a message. However, I can't promise to grant all requests!

I was working on a much bigger project then this one with a lot more detail. And yes it would have gotten a lot more features over all including some form of story. But so far even after that long work I didn't really get too far. So much still to do, including figuring out how the hell I can get followers and other npc's to walk around on there without some bug coming up or failing to even arrive on there.

And yes, nav mesh is a hell and I seriously hate that part. But I fear it isn't that part that fails. I had similar issues with my other mods where followers refused to get even near the edited areas not even starting to get inside the buildings all together. Bethesda changed things from previous games which causes the problems, as I didn't have those before.

You should probably be a bit closer to the island as it has no LOD.
