Description
EK subs update project!

This is part of a bigger project to update EK submarines to the new 1.0 Braotrauma.

All credits go to videogames for his beautifull but sadly abandoned creations that now are rather buggy and unbalanced so this aims to bring some of them up to date and functional.

This sub has been made to work in vanilla!!

Design changes:
  • Changed the plain background hull to Ballast Wall A2 type.
  • Remade the electrical room.

Technical changes:
  • Removed every item.
  • Unchecked auto fill for every container.
    [Removed the third smaller engine now it has 2.
  • Changed engine speed from 250 x2 so now it goes around 25km/h.
  • Rebuild AI way-points made them sharper.
  • When first bought every batter starts full so the reactor wont overload.
  • Removed the old wiring,so many missing places and items because this sub relied a lot on the EK_Dockyard mod but now everything has been made vanilla compatible.
    The wiring is very simple but messy because I learned how to do it while making it. Nothing breaks or catches on fire, I tested it ! mostly direct connection with relays for multiple machines and that's about it.
  • Old reactors (that were missing) have been replaced one is on its back side having max 6k power feeding the engine and the other has 10k feeding 2 batteries of 3 and 5k each withing a new electrical room.
  • Every connection can be modified in game if you have the patience.
  • Placed missing turrets spots and loaders now the heavy guns are connected to 2 loaders to keep it looking good and replaceable.
  • Smaller pumps were added to key location missing water drain.
  • The floors were remade and have been added a lot of water ducts (a bit too many imo) but now it drains fast and reliable.
  • Many buttons are now useless and kept just for decor only one that do something are the ones near the reactors that turn them off.

To sum it up
  • Power works.
  • Weapon work.
  • Usable by bots.
  • Can dock/undock and wont sink.
  • 12 turrets in total 10 light 2 heavy
  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool!

Vanilla Stiletto is a very cool idea, but for those who want the original Stiletto:

Subscribe to the Chinese remastered EK mods, as EK 1.x.x.x seems to be fairly depreciated (Over a year out of date).
Subscribe to the original EK Stiletto mod.
Works perfectly outside of a few things being weirdly unwired.

Examples of these things are:
The two battery charging docks in the upper-middle gunnery compartment.
The oxygen tank shelf in the bottom airlock.

I recommend wiring the charging docks to the red relay component above the main nuclear reactor, to the left. The one which powers the sprinkler system. The oxygen tank shelf is an easy enough fix otherwise.

You also should remove all the weapon holders that hold miscellaneous items for decoration. That doesn't work anymore.

Hope this helps anyone looking to do the same.

There is no engine boost or ballast cut off they were probably linked with some EK stuff that is deleted.

I've also found that some of the auxiliary system like the engine boost and ballast cut-off system don't work in your version, are those intentional?

I will leave the cabinets locked behind the door on the tip locked and for gunners I have 2 option
2 guns for 1 npc or 4 guns for 1 npc but with detectors for range angle adjustments which would be maybe a performance impact? I will do them both but as separate subs so this one stays as the original

That is one of my biggest gripes with EK subs, most of them are very clunky with bots and needs some QoL improvements. Another suggestion I'd make is having the turrets be controlled by one periscope and can be switched by dragging the mouse either up or down. Because having 12 security NPCs alone is insane.

Also if you just bought this ship it has 0 items in only those who you take from the last sub so you might not have proper meds.

Which medicine cabinet some might be locked due to permissions (ex only security guard can access it)

Is the pathing for the AI fixed? Because for some reason whenever my crew gets injured my medic can't go to the medicine cabinet.

The issue has been found apparently you cant use relays to connect the oxygen generator as it takes u a LOT of power
