Sol Badguy (W.I.P)

Description
Please note that this character is a Work in Progress.

Do not expect this to be a finished character.
This is a port of Sol Badguy from Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus Reload. I'm planning on utilizing moves and ideas from multiple iterations of the character, like giving them their EX Flame Dipper or an alternative Down-B with Xrd Grand Viper. I have a rough idea on how I want this character to play, but I'll need to do more to flesh it out.

Current movelist:
Jab: "Gatling Combination" - A multi-part jab that requires the move to connect before the next can come out. Each hit has different properties that could be used in different ways.
  • Jab 1 - Sol does a basic jab with the hilt of the Fireseal. Sends the opponent basically nowhere. Is made to easily lead up to Jab 2.
  • Jab 2 - Sol does a two hit knee into kick. The first hit is practically the same as Jab 1 and is made to cancel into Jab 3 immediately. If you do not immediately go into Jab 3, the second hit will come out. The second hit sends lightly up and slightly away. Jump cancelable. Great for starting a ladder combo.
  • Jab 3 - Sol makes a simple slash with the blade of the Fireseal. This slash sends the opponent strongly away, ending the string.

Dash Attack: "Flame Dipper" - Sol lunges forward across the floor for a two-hit combo. This move is a fast burst option that leads into follow-ups at low percents, but is punishable if you missed or if blocked.

Neutral Special: "Gunflame" - Sol jabs the Fireseal into the ground and releases a multi-hitting volcanic eruption that scrapes across the area in front of them. At the end of the projectile, it will pop the opponent upwards for an interesting combo. Can be used at the ledge just as effectively. Use Gunflame as an oppressive approaching tool that could easily link into combos.

Up Special: "Volcanic Viper" - Sol does a two-hit rising uppercut using the hilt of the Fireseal, creating flames from the other end. Frames 2-10 of the move are invincible, can kill at very high percents, and has a close sweet spot for increased damage. Use Volcanic Viper as a very strong anti-air or combo ender.

  • Implemented proper hurt and ko sound effects.

  • Implemented a new costume, "Slash P." As the full render does not use the same palette as the sprites, it will not change colors when the costumes are changed. This will be adjusted in the future.

  • Jab 2 Fixed. No longer has insane scaling on the second hit, making it a more consistent combo tool and not kill as unintended. Is able to be properly jump-canceled which was not working in the previous patch.

  • Some cleaning up of Volcanic Viper particles.

Creator's Notes:
I created this character as I'm unhappy with the current Sol Badguy that exists in the workshop. I'm still working with a modified Frankie, it's not polished but it's what I have. It has been a struggle to find motivation to work on this since I'm also in school, but it's been fun working on this so far.
