Bloodstains

Description
Adds bloodstains from Dark Souls into Slay the Spire.

If you die during a run, your gold will be in a random combat node in the act you died in on your next run. If you reach that node, you'll get a card at the start of combat that, when played, gives you the amount of gold you had lost. Bloodstains are character agnostic so if you died as The Ironclad and started a new run as The Silent, you'll see the bloodstain. If you die in Act 4, your bloodstain will appear in Act 3.

The percentage of gold carried in the bloodstain can be configured in the mod settings.

F.A.Q.

Can't I just suicide over and over to accumulate gold and get a large sum all at once?
Yes.

Isn't that blatantly overpowered?
Yes.

IDK how things work behind the scenes, but wouldn't it be possible to check the act number (act_num >= 3) and then put it in act 3, so it catches all acts?

Or failing that check the floor number instead. From my memory one act is 17 floors. So either put it on the same floor, or (imho better) do (floor_num >= 34) and put it on a random floor in act 3.

If one dies on floor 80 or something those 450 gold will be worthless once you climb back up there, but could be a nice boost in act 3.

Agreed, I would love if this works in infinite mode / endless. Can you have a config option that changes it so that this appears in the same act as the one you've died in? And an option to either randomize its position in the act or be at the same node as the one you died

@pcgames-food I'm not sure. How do act numbers work on endless? I hardcoded Act 4 to put the bloodstain in Act 3. Otherwise, your bloodstains always appear in the act you lost them in, so if you lost in Act 16, it'd show up after however many cycles it takes to get to 16

hi do you know if this will work in an infinite / endless spire game?
(basically in those ones, when you beat a certain boss it unlocks infinite acts where you keep playing acts which get harder and harder :)

AMAZING idea, I didn't know I needed this mod! Mixing this with other mods that make my runs harder, feels like playing a souls card game. Thank you!

@krassar, good idea! I added a config option so you can choose how much gold is saved in the bloodstain.

If you want to do something to make it more balanced I would suggest having the floor the bloodstain is on be the percent of the money you get back. If that seems like too little (I think the final act ends on a floor in the 50s) you could have each floor be 2% instead. I don't expect you to want to add many configuration options but being able to toggle the percent to a fixed value would be cool too. Awesome mod regardless! :)
