Vampire - 3 Blind Mice 2023

Sit back, hold tight, the Vampire is taking flight!

This project was the culmination of a contest called "3 Blind Mice", where 3 people are randomly assigned one of 3 roles (Track, Supports & Environment), and each person has 2 weeks to anonymously work on the ride before it is passed onto the next role. I was assigned the Environment role, and since I was presented with an Inverted Coaster I decided to let the time I spent hosting Vampire at Chessington World of Adventures influence the theme style. After navigating around a cliffside you will enter the main centrepiece, a medieval church. There is a small indoor queue portion, then after ascending the stairs you board the ride in the large open-air station and take off into the woods. After a high-speed first half where you burst through the church roof, the ride enters a 2nd launch right into a large cave, before finally returning to the station.

Please Note: There are some changes from the contest entry that was submitted due to the amount of time I have had to tinker with this waiting for the results. All changes are listed below for transparency, and they do not change any of the core environment/ride. - Fixes to geometry for performance
- A minor support fix by the storage and a couple other additional flanges on a few stanchions
- Station segment spacing
- Minor tweaks to the MCBR block settings to avoid the train running through it on a manual block mode stop
- Changes to the yellow stripes on the station platform
- Emergency lights inside the station, storage and pathways to catwalks
- A height stick next to the operator booth
- A merge point before baggage with a height stick
- Fencing around the maintenance access ramp
- Tunnel access & emergency lights
- Operating instructions in the operator booth
