Floors Are (Absolutely) Worthless

Description
- Works with most modded floors (feel free to report if any aren't affected)
- Safe to add to a save
- Safe to remove from a save
- Affects all floors except for smoothed stone (to achieve the same for smoothed stone, please use this mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3248629520)

A very simple patch that sets the wealth of all constructed floors to 0. The way floors impact colony wealth in vanilla always made little sense to me, especially since all pre-placed floors on the starting map automatically counted towards your wealth.

I guess it does make the game a bit easier, but the main point is it makes it more consistent. It didn't feel right to play something where the optimal strategy was to never build any floors. Now those raiders won't send an army after you just because you dared to lay some good-looking parquet! Also, somewhat balancing this out, another balance change caused by the price drop is that it's now harder to make room impressive with just flooring (though quality floors still affect room beauty, they no longer have an impact on room wealth, and both are factored into impressiveness). Also, obviously, if you're deliberately trying to max your colony wealth (say, for the Archonexus quest), you probably shouldn't be using this (or use it for a while and remove, this one is safe to add/remove).

The patch is very lightweight, as it modifies just several abstracts - and through those, sets the price for all floors derived from it. This makes it, at least in theory, work for modded floors as well. Some floor mods might define their own abstracts, in which case I try incorporating those as additional patches. Feel free to use it however you want and incorporate it into your work. If you encounter any floors that this doesn't work with, feel free to let me know.

A useful companion mod to check the wealth stat (which isn't normally directly displayed): https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2593103416

Due to the way the smoothed stone is coded, it's impossible (at least to my knowledge) to change its wealth by a simple XML patch, so those aren't supported and won't be, sorry. See the link above for the mod that tackles those.

FAQ:
Q: Mod support?
A: Yes. Most mods are supported implicitly due to the way this is coded.

Q: Safe to add mid-game?
A: Yes

Q: Safe to remove mid-game?
A: Yes

Q: CE compatible?
A: Would be very surprised if not.

Q: Any incompatibilities?
A: Shouldn't be, unless with other mods that tweak wealth values.

Q: Load order?
A: Anywhere after the main game and after the mods that add more floors, if using any.

Q: Are all floors affected, even gold/silver tiles?
A: Yes. Literally every floor except for smoothed stone which is hardcoded (for smoothed stone, see the complementary mod above). This is by design and I won't be changing it. No, I won't make it an option as I can't do options.

Q: Will you do the same for walls?
A: Somebody already made one for smoothed stone walls; other than that, I don't quite see the point - walls, unlike floors, can be claimed, so you aren't penalised for the ones that spawn on the starting map. Also, a room necessarily has much fewer wall tiles than floor tiles (if it's bigger than 2x2). So no, I don't feel there's any gameplay sense in making walls worthless.

Q: This is stupid! Of course gold floors should increase wealth!
A: Not really a question, but ok. This mod is not an attempt to determine "fair" wealth ratings for all the floors. It is an attempt to take floors OUT of the wealth calculation altogether. Everything else affecting your wealth has a degree of actual utility; floors provide comparatively little utility and said utility is roughly equal for all the floors with very few exceptions. Functionally in-game the only difference between a gold tile and a concrete tile is beauty, and even said beauty has minimal utility as making a statue out of the same amount of gold gives you more total beauty for less effort. Floors simply shouldn't affect wealth to be reasonable gameplay-wise.

load order fixed it!

@nakahashi works fine for me: https://imgur.com/a/4dNGMNT

Make sure you load this one AFTER any mod it's supposed to modify, MO included.

@Leaguenet Either my assessment was wrong earlier, which is possible I don't know if I was looking at the data correctly, or the update day before yesterday fixed it, because visible wealth now works correctly when loaded before this one.

doesn't work with medieval overhaul :(

Seems to be working properly and everythings worth 0 again. Thanks for the fix

OK, should work now (may need unsub/resub or verify to actually update).

This mod still has $1 for floors. The other mod (Floors are completely worthless) works fine.

Might be; never tested them together myself - but I'd be interested to know whether it's this mod not working properly or Visible Wealth lying about the real numbers.
