Door County is the easternmost county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin.

In the heart of picturesque Door County, Wisconsin, an unassuming research facility was buried deep beneath a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan & the Green Bay area. Officially, the lab was tasked with ecological preservation projects, but its true purpose was far more sinister. The facility was the epicenter of *Project Eclipse*, a top-secret military initiative to develop a bio-weapon capable of neutralizing enemy forces without conventional warfare.

The weapon's design hinged on a pathogen engineered to hijack the nervous system, shutting down higher brain functions while keeping the body mobile and highly aggressive—a terrifying blend of science and destruction. The project was kept under strict control, with multiple safety protocols to prevent an outbreak.

But progress comes with risks.

A breakthrough in the virus's mutagenic properties caused unexpected instability. One fateful night, during routine testing on live subjects, the virus mutated beyond control. A single infected test subject escaped containment, triggering a cascading failure of the lab's safety systems. Within hours, the lab's tight-knit team of scientists and security personnel fell victim to the pathogen, their bodies reanimating into mindless predators.

Emergency protocols locked down the facility, sealing the infected inside—but not before one researcher, patient zero, breached the surface. Unbeknownst to the government, the infection was carried into the nearby towns of Sturgeon Bay and Sister Bay. Initially dismissed as a strange flu, the symptoms quickly turned deadly.

In a matter of days, the idyllic vacation destination became ground zero for a growing apocalypse. Entire towns were consumed as the infection spread along the county’s winding roads and dense forests, infecting tourists and locals. The government responded by quarantining Door County, deploying troops to contain the outbreak and burying the truth about *Project Eclipse*.
However, the virus had already evolved. Now airborne, it seeped through the quarantined zone, infecting anyone who ventured too close, save the rare few immune to the airborne effects. Abandoned cabins, lighthouses, and fishing harbors became eerie reminders of the life that once thrived there, now replaced by swarms of the undead and an omnipresent silence broken only by distant growls.

The lab’s secrets remain hidden beneath the earth, its halls filled with the horrors of the initial outbreak. Though nature begins to reclaim the land above, the underground facility stands as a grim monument to humanity’s hubris—a ticking time bomb that threatens to release even greater terrors if disturbed.
