Resistance Fugitive- The RPG

Description
A guerrilla warfare role-playing experience across fifteen lovingly handcrafted levels. The resistance began and grows. Out of the seven Mega-Cities, owned by the dystopian “Plutarch Technocratics” one-world-government, two have fallen to our offensive. We push at the other bastions and are planning a push on Mega-City One as we speak.

When we captured the laboratories at Mega-City Four and Three, we discovered an awful secret. Our Intelligence analysts were able to piece together a trail of evil experiments leading to a remote mountain Death Camp.

This is where you come in. You are “The Spirit who Can”. Our leader saw you gut a fascist soldier in front of his terrified squad. They surrendered their outpost without firing a shot at you and turned the conflict of the whole front in our favour. Our divine leader of Equality, Philanthropy and Zealous War is mad in my opinion. Putting yourself, a private, in charge of the Special Forces team sent to analyse the mountain fortress seemed insane to me. But I might be wrong...

I read the reports of your twenty attempts to probe the fortress. You always overpowered the guards, and twice fought off successive waves of reinforcements, but the Death Camp admin always shut off power to the elevators. The peak is unscaleable, as is testified by you losing two platoons of commandos as you attempted to scale the peak. This is why I might be wrong about you. You volunteered to be sent inside.

We hid you with a group of willing volunteers and posed you as being at risk to rebel propaganda. Your squad was raided by the State Police and you were be sent to the concentration camp connected with the main prison. Your initial companions are smuggling painfully large items in for you, to collect once you're there. Expect little help from the prisoners. They're mostly writers, programmers, musicians and actors deemed too radical for the state to allow to exist. This is the monster we're fighting, this is why we're fighting, and a brighter future is what we're fighting for.

It's created as a single player and multiplayer experience. I've left the characters open to your team mates' choices but suggest you make a team of “Resistance Basterds” who are mid-powered (stats-wise) and start with just knives (prison shivs) and a banana (that you got from somewhere). Play clever. Scout your objectives. Hit and run, guerrilla warfare fun. I found it quite hard.

The Spirit Who Can-

Hates Crepes, Blahds, all scientists and all fascists.

He has no special power (because by now you're all commandos).

He starts with nothing but what the volunteers smuggled in and hid.

Has the hacker mission of uploading viruses on each level.

He's very cool, like you.

Time to wreak havoc on the evil oppressors. Sabotage the Death Camp. It's the site of detestable experiments on the genome and minds of the inmates. Destroy the scientists at the Eugenics department. It'll kill the main minds and powers behind their dark projects. Kill the camp Commandant. Our intelligence reveals he's in the north western sector, relaxing by his pool. Try to release all the resistance agents in the main prison before they're executed. Destroy the power-core in the south-east and make good your escape. Make them pay.

You'll be met by resistance agents as soon as you escape. Try to speak to each group as they have vital information for you. It's a battlefield out there as we've only been able to infiltrate a few ghost-commando scout units into that sector.

The sewers in the army outpost that you'll be ,“ahem”, assaulting will take you into virgin territory for us. We “believe” that it can take you to the border town of “Rarcellon” and far from the front lines. It's in enemy territory but you'll have proven the Great and Divine leader's faith in you for making it that far.

We have managed to push a few hardened platoons into Rarcellon. They will occupy the abandoned factory the sewers reportedly feed into. From there you'll be able to recruit some backup. They'll all be well-supplied, and capable resistance fighters. As you level up I suggest you focus on your Stats and “team building” perks to play the game as I imagine it. Well, anyway, the Great Leader has every faith in you. Apparently his majesty can see into the future.

Once you're established in Rarcellon, take the guarded supply station and ride the captured railway line into Mega-City One. You should get past their insane security before news of the guerrilla attack can reach them. Once there, you'll find our beleaguered, and shaken, shadow-cell operatives to help you on the inside. Kill the CEO of Plutarch Technocratics and capture the heavily guarded television centre to relay news of his fall to the solar system. Our uprising on the home planet must count for something. We must have our day. It rests on your shoulders. The Great Leader of the Spiritual Reformists says you're cool. I think he's very cool, so I guess I must have faith in his coolness about you.

He's attached a spirit leash to your soul. If you die, finally, his psychic prowess will protect you by whipping your soul into a world where you have to make the dinner, wash the dishes and go to bed. When you come back to us we'll have clone ready and send you back to when you were eighteen to have another go. The Divine Leader has been gracious in sharing this power with you.

You're the hero of this tale, or you and your mates. Tool up and check your corners. Play music of your choice in the background.

I attempted to get most reasonable characters to be basically interactive. All “Resistance officers” have something directly pertinent to the story-line and advancement, which is good, or you can blaze through as a four-man kill team of rebel die-hards. The Supreme and Delightful Leader of the Resistance approves of both. If one doesn't work, try the other.

If you like it. Give me a nice warm blanket or something. I think it's quite a big campaign by S.O.R. Standards, especially in terms of custom made chunks. Have fun.

Thank you Eggsman. You win the prize for the best player. I'm glad you beat it and are now the ultimate Resistance Fugitive Champion

k thanks i beat the game and it was one of the best campaigns i ever played, better than the tower. parcellon station has to be my favorite level. but i do feel like the further you are in the campaign, the worst the levels kinda get. but i understand, making SoR campaigns is pretty long to do, anyway, for the cartel i just snorted sugar, ran through the cartel members, placed like 3 bombs to destroy the barrels, used and invisibility syring i found and dipped as fast as possible. i beat the game then played again to see the strat you sugested and it kinda worked, it turned the game into a bullet hell, literally, but it worked. though, it is kinda hard getting the cartel members inside the building to get out, and you cant rly fight them off, cuz at that point you dont really have any more healing items and they just corner you. very good campaign

I suggest luring the cartel to other factions. Weaken them and then do guerilla warfare from the woods

Hi Pabloelly. I've isolated the problem. The local sign was importing its text into the chest as an object so I removed them. Happy hunting. Check your corners. No mods needed to run the campaign.

Thanks Pabloelly. It's great to receive such positive and instructive feedback. Yes, I found that water is often bugged so it can only be overlaid but not replaced. This means script doesn't run on it sometimes. Very annoying for a level creator. I'll have a look, see whether I've still got the campaigns saved and removed/replace the chest you described. I'm glad you like the firefights. I reckon you'll love the level after the sewers. Happy hunting, may the corporation fall before your fury!

pretty good mod, im only the third stage, but i love the tough fire fights. Only one thing, at the begining of the swer level, in the part where are multiple chests for you to stack up in order to fight the infestation, there seem to be some broken entities that dont do anything and that after you pick get stuck in your inventory. They appear in two of the upper crates (from the twelve there are in that zone, im tgalking about the ones in the top right). ¿Do i need some mod to properly run the campaing or something like that?

Updated to give the final level some extra spice and pace. Praise be to all loyal rebel commandos. May your aim at the evil corporation be true.

Everything should be sorted now. I had a number of slight variants and was uploading the wrong one. Rogue Vision is now on every map the resistance doesn't have drone coverage. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to make it a more thrilling experience. Thank you for your patience.
