Oh, the mod works fine in Military outpost and the mod-added Mercenary Outpost. I just thought it worked based on if the Fabricator Matrix tech was available to research, and the discovery that it's actually linked to the scenario was odd enough I figured it was worth a comment so other players were aware of it.
You could argue this mod is worked fully as intended. It's just that it doesn't fully play nice with other mods, which for its age, is completely fair.

havent played or updated the mod in almost 2 yrs, so not sure if it still works

I'm unsure if it was always the case, but I just noticed that even if you are using a mod like "Unlock Fabricator" to allow other non-military outpost scenarios access to Fabricator matrixes, this Crystal Fabrication mod is still looking for Military Outpost in order to unlock the research. So, a Trade Outpost and Crash Landing and Guardians can't see this research. However, the mod scenario Mercenary Outpost does count as a Military Outpost, so it can use it.
