Description
As 3/8/2023, this mod got reworked to both work better and on a more balanced way. All of the strikethrough text belongs to the old version only.

This mod is very experimental, and while I tried to cover every situation possible, it may not work on really weird modded scenarios


This mod introduces the concept of a (crafteable) Lifes system into Horizons Gate, for non-boarding combat and for fights which feature a player party from 2 to 10 members, and any party size number inbetween (but not more or less than that) and when going into the "game over" dialog of the Overworld due to Morale reaching 0. While kinda cheaty, I tried to balance it the best I could for a mod that is just meant to be something I did for fun while testing new mechanics.

New Description: This mod introduces the concept of a (crafteable) Lifes system into Horizons Gate, for normal combat. However, resurrecting over and over will leave you Crew Morale more and more weakened. The mod features 2 modes, A and B. You can open the config menu for the mod at the "mods" option at the pause menu.

Mod summary
  • Any non-boat-seaMonster enemy you kill has an small chance to drop "Hope". When combined with Revive Dust, you get 1 "Cristallized Life".
  • To work, the Cristallized Lifes has 3 modes: In A, they must be on actor inventory to work (default mod behaviour). In B mode, Lifes must be on stash to work and the amount you have its tracked on the HP description. In C mode, Lifes act as a consummable that must be on you inventory and be used to protect from death.
  • Regardless of A, B or C mode, if the condition is met, when one of you actors gets incapped and you have a Cristallized Life, it will be consumed to revive said actor. However, when this happens, you Crew Morale will be reduced by -5. Amount of HP and MP when revived is affected by you actual Crew Morale.
  • On the seas of Eral: This mod reworks the "game over" dialog screen of the base game when you Crew Morale reaches 0%, offering the option to "break" one of you Cristallized Lifes to recover 33% Crew Morale while also giving you 10 Deluxe Food rations and 200 Water Barrels/Bottles of Water (used for interactibility with my "Individual Hunger and Thirst" mod, YOU DONT REQUIRE IT to use this mod, but if you do, this mod ensures you wont die of Thirst. If you dont have this mod, you can discard those 2 last items, as they will be of no use)

Know Issues
So far, none, but if a modded fight is really weird and uses odd things like forcing a battle to end in strange ways, I cannot guarantte that the mod will work on 101% of the cases. So keep you eyes open. None in the new version! Should be far more compatible with pretty much everything
