For the ones that get stuck highlighted, I've noticed that it happens when the mouse is on the crafting hotbar and moves rightward after hovering over an ingredient. A workaround is to go to each of the items on the crafting hotbar, mouse over all the ingredients, then move the cursor back to the hotbar itself. Once you find the right one, it should disappear and you can leave the craft hotbar by moving up/down off of it and then around to the rest of the screen.
