J-20 False Cockpit

Air Superiority patterns, as used on modern interceptors and fighters, are an odd niche in military camouflage. They appeared in the jet age as altitudes and ranges of aerial combat grew higher and farther, and typically have less in common with traditional camouflage than they do with nautical patterns such as dazzle, because the objective is not to hide (hard to do in the sky) but to confuse identification, speed, and azimuth estimations. If it takes the opponent an extra half second to determine who you are and where you will be, that is an extra half second for you to react or counter.

This pattern is based on the soft edge pattern seen on J20 fighters in service with the PLAAF. I added the false cockpit to the bottom because I like the effect (though that is more commonly seen on western aircraft) and the bottom of the aircraft is otherwise completely devoid of any features. No national insignia.
