Description
DEPRECATED SOON - REWRITE INBOUND
With some drastic changes under the hood, I'd break stuff by using this mod ID. A fresh "2.0" is out: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3289462382

Overview
Improved distance and visuals for asteroid scanning, and it's entirely client-side! (The server only distributes block configs to clients)

Prospector shows asteroids within range of mounted scanners, and will actively scan for and display ores found. This information is persistent between sessions, taking the guesswork out of which asteroid you've visited before.

Asteroids are shown out to a maximum display distance based on mounted scanners. Once within range, and angular tolerance of the player camera, an active scan will begin to determine and display the ore content. Note that the density of this scan may result in slight inaccuracies or missed ore for imprecise scanners!

Aim your camera at asteroids for detailed information text to appear, or hold alt to display all available text (may get messy in dense fields!)

Does not work in grav wells >0.2g or for planets/boulders! Other mods handle planetary scanning really well!

Hit enter and then hit F2 to access the mod settings menu
You can alter the colors used, and set if text or outlines are shown.

-These preferences are stored in the local folder:

-Scan information is saved between sessions in:

World Options
Configurations
Scanner configurations are kept in the world folder:
YourWorldName\Storage\2973925860.sbm_Prospector\ScannerConfigs.cfg

You can add to this file, but any errors will revert it to a safe default.
Configuration Options
ScansPerTick: This sets the max number of scans per tick, and overall sets the speed an asteroid is scanned based upon the scan spacing

ScanDistance: Furthest distance to actively scan an asteroid to determine ore content. Set to zero for passive scanners that only show the presence of asteroids.

ScanSpacing: Density of scan, as an integer. The asteroid will be divided into a grid based on this value, so very low spacings of 1 or 2m will mean a lot of points to check for material, but a more accurate scan overall. Set to 100m for passive scanners.

DisplayDistance: Distance to show the presence of asteroids. This includes dark orange unscanned ones and green previously scanned asteroids.

SubTypeID: String SubTypeID to look for. The matching block must be IsWorking for the scanner to be operable.

ScanFOV: Angle, in degrees, from the center of camera view that active scans will be conducted. This essentially forms a cone.

If you do add your own custom active scanners, please only have one type turned on at a time on a ship. Passive scanners will contribute to the maximum display range, and only the highest value is used.
