Brest Fortress

The Soviet Battle of Fort Brest took place in June 1941, during World War II. The battle occurred when the German Army invaded the Soviet Union and encountered Soviet resistance at the Brest Fortress, located in present-day Belarus. The Soviet garrison, consisting of around 9,000 soldiers, held off the German advance for several days, despite being heavily outnumbered and outgunned. The fortress was eventually captured by the Germans, but not before the Soviets inflicted heavy casualties and delayed the German advance, giving the Soviet Union more time to prepare for the invasion. The battle is considered a symbol of Soviet heroism and resistance against the Nazi invasion.

The map uses topography from the exact region of the 8km battle that took place squeezed together. (Next update will try to implement this)
