It astounds me to no end what industry will throw away. Perhaps the advent of alchemy at the upper levels of society have made people unaware that things can be “wasted” at all, as they can simply create more of whatever they have discarded? Were I a scholar perhaps there could be a thesis in that idea somewhere. As it stands, until the philosophers can convince the manufacturers that their business practices are contributing to the degradation of civilization, I shall continue scrounging in their trash heaps for usable material. Just yesterday I uncovered a “defective” batch of triplex bonding glyphs, but some trivial carving later and they are defective no longer! I also managed to discover several smashed vials of quicksilver, which I took as much as I could from. I can finally put my glyphs of projection to use! I find myself excited for each new alchemical challenge, despite the great danger it poses. I mustn’t let the thrill of risk go to my head, lest I end up destroying our apartment…
