While a pitcher in the Major Leagues, William Benson was a superstar. He practiced diligently and managed a strict routine to become the best possible pitcher he could be, often taking on responsibility for everything within the game.

He took this responsibility to great lengths, which led to conflict between him and his teammates and family - notably his younger brother. The bad blood that he had with his brother grew to damage his reputation, and William was even accused of match fixing - leading to a rather disgraceful exit from the baseball world.

William practically disappeared for three years following his expulsion.
