Description
THE NEAR FUTURE...

250 meters above sea level. Three klicks west of the Abydos border. The Tjebnutjer Sprawl. Anchor of the border clades and safe haven of the violent delinquent groups facilitating sales, movement and delivery of hijacked rare mystic materials in the region.

0300, the cordon is set. Sitting just outside the amber splash of sodium vapor lights, assaulters hold positions north and south of the target, ready to choke any attempt to violate the perimeter. Scorch Two, mingled with the blocking forces north and east of the target, is conducting the assault.
"Two Zero, this is Three Two. Hot mic." Both the 5G tower and the mesh network set up by the delinquent by the Kaiser enablers and their Gematria patrons are offline.

Kino responds: "Two Zero copies, hot mic." Kino twists the channel select one click on his 152 Satcom radio and calls into higher, "Actual, Two Zero is ready for kindle. Standing by for release."

Higher replies immediately,
"Roger Two Zero, the door is yours."

"Copy direct Actual." Kino switches channel back. "Scorch Two elements, kindle. I say again, kindle." The kill teams set out, stalking in a file, moving with purpose, converging on the walled cluster of cement houses and gardens designated as NAI 1 and NAI 2.

The only hints of light are porch and landscape lights dotting some of the yards. There is no foot traffic at all and most of the interior lights are out. The assault troops cross the 30 meters from their holding position to their designated breach points inside of a minute. Pre-selected during weeks of planning leading up to this moment, the breachers in each of the three elements extract the strip charges from nylon scabbards on their plate carrier, peeling seals on the tape and dragging open palms down the length of the explosives to secure them to designated walls and doors.

Set, each troop collapses back to covered positions and rogers up with Kino. The assault is prepped. Kino pushes it up to the ground combat element commander. "Actual, Two Zero. Kindle."

"Copy Two Zero. Making the call." Moments pass, Switchblade drones glide into orbit overhead almost silently. Designed to use their props only for launch and maneuver, they can loiter quietly over a target for up to 15 minutes with minimal signature.

A light on the second floor of NAI 1 comes up. "Actual, be advised, candle, black side, NAI 2, time now."

"Two Zero, this is Actual. Ember."

"Copy Actual. Ember." Kino tabs his PTT. "All Scorch Two elements, this is Two Zero. Ember. I say again, Ember. Standby for count." Kino takes a breath and speaks in an even, slow breath. "Three zero."

"Two zero."

An HSAF (Halo School-Aged Female) comes to a window in NAI 2. The pane slides open and she shouts out something in Japanese.

"One zero."

It finally clicks. Urgent shouts rouse both villas, but it's already too late.

"Ember."

Back in the old back-when times, there was a music mod specifically for No Mercy by one Lt. Rowley that plays Code Silver during combat. The upside is the music does not have to bend over backward toward the original zombats' length. The downside is that it can only play in one map. Unlike the regular music mods, which, while having to play ball with the vanilla music, can be played everywhere else.

For some ungodly reason, the original author deleted or hid the mod from the workshop, and most players now cannot access it anymore, except for the extremely lucky ones that manually downloaded it to see how it ticks.

Thanks to that particular mod, I now know how to do the same toward specific maps and liberate the dowry L4D2 campaigns with extremely inappropriate Blue Archive soundtracks. Now my reach is increasing with every Blue Archive song, and nothing is stopping me from doing the same to every other map.

And with this mod, I bring the wonderful music of the mercenary special operations kill team simulator that is Blue Archive to the first L4D1 campaign.

THIS MOD CONTAINS
  • Robogrex as No Mercy's first few safehouse soundtracks.
  • Unwelcome School for the Tank's theme during the initial three maps.
  • ARES for the startled Witch themes during the aforementioned initial maps.
  • Dayscape for scenario failed (AKA: a squadwipe) and death theme for the three first maps.
  • Bluearchive Fanfare for the end of the initial chapters.
  • Simon Viklund's personal edits of Mechanical Jungle as the primary combat music theme, Tank and safehouse soundtracks of the titular Mercy Hospital. If you do not grow a burning hatred for Mercy Hospital and its infernal music, then this mod is not doing its job right.
  • Compatibility to Fairfield Terror. It's a bit hacky and some of the Tank's soundtrack may or may not work, but it's there.

CREDIT

  • Nexon Games[www.nexon.com] and MX Studio for Blue Archive, the game where students fight and die in a civil war fought not for great justice, but for mineral rights, in the failed state of Kivotos.
  • Mitsukiyo[mitsukiyo.info] for making Robogrex, Dayscape, Bluearchive Fanfare and Unwelcome School.
  • Nor for composing ARES. My ears are still ringing.
  • Simon Viklund for the energizing soundtrack remixes.
  • Lt. Rowley for starting my Blue Archive Music modding spree.

CHANGELOG
  • 15th May: Initial upload
  • 16th May: Removes Bluearchive Fanfare as the safehouse finish theme with another variant of Robogrex
  • 4th June: Adds death themes: Dayscape (and Simon Viklund's remix of Dayscape) if the players fail No Mercy.
