I find it difficult to accept 20 years of warship development (1915 - 1936) as T1 constructions :)
The basic assumption was made that the research of ships will take place in the years when laid down. These are famous ships that introduced new solutions and were a symbol of the development of ships at that time.

DESTROYERS
A new ship has been introduced whose parameters are set between T1 and T2.

  • T1 - early - all ships built during World War I and shortly after its end
  • T2 (new) - 1926 - creation of new constructions including: ABCD, L'Adroit, Frecia-Dardo, Type 23
  • Large destroyer - 1926 - Le Fantasque, Mogador, Leningrad, Type 34, Tribal, Somers, Fubuki, Navigatori
  • T3 (ex T2) - 1931 - Maestrale, Farragut, Mahan,
  • T4 (ex T3) - 1937 - Sims, Gleaves, JKN-class, Kagero, Soldati
  • T5 (ex T4) - 1943 - C-class, Allen M. Sumner, Battle

Large destroyers (Leaders)
Before the outbreak of war, many nations built large destroyers to fight other destroyers or as flotilla leaders. They were larger than destroyers and sometimes as large as small light cruisers. Ships built: Fubuki, Chacal, Le Fantasque, Mogador, Porter, Leningrad, Type 34, Type 36, Akizuki etc.

CRUISERS
After the end of World War II, the greatest influence on the development of this class of ships was the Washington Naval Treaty. There was then a division into heavy cruisers (treaty cruisers) and light cruisers.

Constructions:
  • T1 - early - all cruisers built until the early 1920s.
  • T2 - 1924 - so-called treaty cruisers. The period of starting the construction of heavy cruisers armed with 203mm guns. Ships of type: County, Pensacola, Duquesne, Myoko, Trento,
  • T3 - 1931 - start of construction of new heavily armed Mogami-class light cruisers. The construction of this ship made other great powers start building similar ships. Among others, Town, Brooklyn, La Galissonniere are created
  • T4 - 1939 - development of plans and start of construction of new cruisers: Fiji, Minotaur, Atlanta, Cleveland, De Grasse, M-class, Agano, Chapayev
  • T5 - 1944

After this period, only the Americans developed new cruiser designs at the end of the war (Fargo, Oregon City). Many years after the war, ships that had already been built were modified or ships designed before the war (De Grasse, Chapayev) were completed.

Changed cruiser armor parameters.
T1 - 40-60mm - light armor that protects cruisers only against the light armament of destroyers.
T2 - 70-80mm
T3 - 100-120mm
T4 - 150mm - the most heavily armored cruisers

Types of cruiser hull
  • Large Cruiser Hull - heavy cruisers and large light cruisers (Mogami, Cleveland) armed with medium battery or light medium battery
  • Cruiser Hull - many type light cruisers and anti-aircraft cruisers armed with light medium battery, light battery, light battery dp.

BATTLESHIPS
WWII is the end of the era of battleships and the period of aviation dominance. The Washington Naval Treaty halted construction of new ships for nearly 15 years. The breach of the treaty by Japan in 1934 and the agreement between England and Germany in 1935 began the period of construction of new battleships. However, events during the war ultimately showed the dominance of aviation. Already during the war, the construction of many battleships was stopped (Lion, H-39) or not even started (Alsace, Montana, UP41)

Battleships are only divided into 3 tiers:
  • T1 - early - battleships built until the early 1920s
  • T2 - 1934 - first new battleships and battlecruisers. Dunqergue, Littorio, Scharnhorst, then Richelieu, Bismarck, KGV, North Carolina
  • T3 - 1939 - last battleship designs, most of which were never built: Lion, Vanguard, South Dakota, Iowa, Alsace, H-39

After that, the following changes have been made:
Scharnhorst - battleship.
Richelieu - battleship.

Battleship equipment
The parameters of the ships' armor, engines and armament have been changed. It was possible to achieve approximately the speed close to the historical one for all classes of ships of different types. Only Japanese cruisers have lower speed. I have no idea how they did it, that they reached such high speeds with such strong armor :)

Armament:
T1 - 280 - 320mm
T2 - 340 - 356mm
T3 - 380 - 406mm
T4 - 406 - 420mm

The armor of the ships was divided into thickness:
T1 - BC1 - 150mm - Renown
T2 - BC2 - 200mm - Kongo, Dunquergue, Kronshtadt
T3 - BB1 - 250mm - Coubert, Bretagne, Andrea Doria, Conte di Cavour, Tennessee
T4 - BB2 - 300mm - most battleships with 280 to 330mm armor
T5 - BB3 - 350mm - heaviest armored battleships such as Nevada, KGV, Nelson, Lion etc

Battleships in this mod are equipped as they were in real life. Therefore, the Queen Elizabeth-class battleship will have T3 armament and BB2 armor, Colorado T2 and BB2, Bismarck T3 BB2, etc.
British and American battleships continued to be formidable ships throughout the war and were a threat even to modern battleships.

AIRCRAFT CARRIERS
In the history of the development of aircraft carriers, there were 4 characteristic periods.

  • T1 - early - conversion of battleships and cruisers into aircraft carriers and construction of new light units for testing new solutions.
  • T2 - 1934 - start of construction of the first modern ships: Soryu, Yorktown, Ark Royal.
  • T3 - 1937 - new, enlarged and improved ships of previous types: Shokaku, Illustrious, Implacable, Essex and Taiho
  • CVL and CVE - 1939 - a new light hull for the light fleet carrier and eskort aircraft carrier.
  • T4 - 1943 - Great Fleet Aircraft Carriers: Midway, Malta.

There are 3 types of aircraft carriers in this mod:
  • CV - aircraft carrier - Carrier Hull
  • CVL - light aircraft carrier - Converted Cruiser Hull - Can be converted from a Large Cruiser Hull
  • CVE - escort aircraft carrier - Converted Light Cruiser Hull - Can be converted from Cruiser Hull
