SDF Sobek Class Frigate

"The Sobek Class Frigate was the first vessel built by the SDF to utilize radar to aid in locating other ships and signaled a new age of warship design. Being put into service near the end of the 1st SDF - SRG war the Sobek class was a mix of new and old ideas. For instance its side rocket pods were quickly deemed obsolete after the war and removed on later production runs. However new systems like the radar and heavier cannons made the Sobek a deadly ship for its size, being able to spot and engage targets from further than most other ships of similar size. The Sobek while quickly being outpaced by newer ships designs helped pave the way for more modern and powerful radar equipped warships such as the Sentinel Class Cruiser which would remain a staple of the SDF fleet for years to come."
