Project Zomboid Hit Reg Splat/Splash SFX replacement

Description
THIS MOD NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED MANUALLY!
This mod replaces all the splat sounds from L4D2 to Project Zomboid.

I hate Valve with their cache on source.
- Sound.cache files for replacement sounds will not work when put into a .vpk!
- Ex: Mods that swap sounds for longer ones require a sound.cache to work. But those Sound.Cache files only work as a loose file.

In short, we need to fix Valve's genius solution for so many years.

What do we do?
  • Download GCFScape[gamebanana.com].
  • A. Goto steamworkshopdownloader.io, download mod.
  • B. Goto my Google Disk Folder[drive.google.com] download mod what you wanna install.
  • Take the folder "sounds" and put it in "X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2". Agree to the replacement.
  • Then we close the game, open it again.
  • Without going into a campaign (the game will crash after recovering the cache) in the main menu, press tilde.
  • Enter the command below:
    snd_rebuildaudiocache

    Then
    snd_updateaudiocache

  • And reopen the game, now everything works!
Because of the fact that the sound depends only on the local cache, does not give full effect to make a large-scale sound mod. We need to squeeze into a strict framework of the existing cache. And that pisses me off. I did a full-fledged resound on Resident Evil, but the game with its cache did not allow a proper execution of it from - because of this evil limitation. So I posted it as is. Question regarding why I did not cut sound - the game with its cache has built-in settings for channels, frequency, pitch, volume, etc. So I would have to check the result every time, and so inconvenient way hoping that everything works within the local cache.

Worth considering if the game will be reinstalled/check file integrity. Then the mod will have to install again. So keep that in mind.

The tutorial is a little destructive. A much easier method would just to replace the gameinfo and put a path that leads to the folder containing sounds rather than replacing them. Also would eliminate the need to rebuild the audio cache and update it. Great mod though! Love how it feels =D
