For a 50 more steel, 4 more CP, 0.2 LESS power, 33T less mass, and fitting inside footprint you can get 2 huge thrusters at 1000KN MORE power
The 2 huge thrusters will be significantly smaller (not hanging out the back of the ship) and have better steering thrust
To be fair, yes the Imperial has 12k more HP
Compared to the 3x4 Imperial it is still pretty bad; 2x tri-steel, 50% more coils, 2x power, 4x volume for 1.5x thrust than ONE 3x4 thruster
That thrust needs to nearly double from the current 15MN
20MN would only be par for the amount of engine it is replacing; given the base game scaling on engine output. 30MN would only be 'adequate' volume scaling. By tons it should be something like 50MN
IF! It were me: power usage to ~1.6, thrust to ~55MN, and up the price
I gotta ask:
Why does the Hyper-Thuster seem to hate engine rooms?
Why is the modular Imperial not engine room compatible?
As for the MMCT issues, the modular thruster uses its own buffing mechanic and thus wont be effected by the vanilla one, might look into that and change it
I am a little confused with the Imperial Hyper Engine, is it a thruster? The description seems to imply that it provides hyperdrive efficiency.
