UPDATE FOR 7.0+: Make sure to update SirNukes Mod API to the latest version for 7.0

Overview:
Like many people, I tend to choose an NPC faction at game start to ally with. This mod goes a step further and will sync your reputation with your chosen ally. Their friends and enemies are now your friends and enemies. Your actions will affect the reputation of your ally with that third party as well. This can be a fun way to make peace or war between factions.

Your allies actions will also affect your reputation. So this mod works well with and is highly recommended to be used alongside DeadAir's Dynamic Wars mod. It will also handle story plots where faction reputations change between each other.

SirNuke's Mod API is required so you can choose and set your ally. The mod is save friendly and can be removed and added whenever.

Piracy playthrough:
  • You can ally with the pirate factions. When allied with Yaki, Duke's Buccaneers or Scale Plate you will automatically gain their ship transponder cloaking technology which is handy for extra piracy fun.
  • Enable in the Extension Options.
  • Only works while you are actively piloting the ship for now.
  • Any fleet subordinates will also be cloaked. Like vanilla, you cannot order your ships while cloaked.
  • You will cloak as the faction of the sector owner that you are in at the time, unless it's Xenon. Unlike the Yaki story I chose not to be able to hide from Xenon.
  • Damage taken or you applying damage will make you lose the cover and must try to escape or not be hit for 1 minute for the system to recharge.

is the cloak/transponder stuff still working on 7.5?

I figured out the thing! Basically, when war pact is activated, right at the end of the rep sync you can lock the player faction relation. And inside the ally rep changed handler, unlock player faction, do the sync, and lock it again.

Do you mind me uploading an addon for warpact that does this?

Looool I came with the intent of asking if you know of a way to lock reputation when you have a warpact ally, only to see I was already here last year :D

Guess I'll go hunting in the codes

Is it possible to add the transponder to the other factions and cloak for xenon? I tried to, but only got init errors in the debug

probably should let people know that this totally clears your current standings and that they are unrecoverable

我已经启动了模组,但是我和海盗结盟后找不到如何启动伪装。

hi,
Is it possible to make the transponder work as standalone mod? Or make it work without SCA, BUC or YAK faction?
I tried to edit some entries but it did not work, I am not really good at this.
Id like to use it from time to time after finishing empyrean curs plot, as additional reward but I do not want to sync my rep with factions.

Not as part of this mod. It's been so long since I've looked at the mod files for this game that I can't remember if there's a specific place where all final rep is calculated that you could adjust instead of the individual bits you mention. Perhaps a mod already exists to slow it down.

Hello there. Is there any scope to lock my reputation with my chosen ally? As in, my actions for or against other factions would have decreased impact because I am small part of a bigger faction? Vanilla rep gains and losses feel like they are just too big in general and I'd love to be able to just set some multiplier somewhere to slow this aspect of the game down.

I've looked at defaults.xml and yeah cool I can modify combat related rep changes, but the reputation logic feels spread out all over the place, updating all the scripts that can change the player's rep seems like a huge task and compatibility nightmare.

Excellent! Thanks for the heads up.
