2K Melee Weapons

Description
Most of L4D2's melee weapons had a maximum resolution of 1024, which is 1k quality. For most of the melees that quality is actually fine, but who doesn't want bigger numbers and bigger textures? So I upscaled them. It may or may not look different.

Includes all TLS textures (besides pitchfork, it was already 2k), using default Valve textures AI upscaled to 2k quality, with minor phong and envmap changes for each weapon. I also gave the machete and knife phong shading because they were missing them. Also includes a normal map for the knife.

Incorporates Fixed Katana Texture by Low Astral

Compatible with reanimations & models
Incompatible with retextures, contains modified VMT's. feel free to modify my mod under personal use if you want to use different vmt parameters.

there were also default vmt's that had broken/non consistent parameters, like the machete or knife. if i get the opportunity i'm not gonna let it stay broken.

its a quality mod, im going to improve quality in other places that isn't just the textures. it stays as true to vanilla as it can without having the melees be too reflective. If that was the case, you probably couldn't even tell the difference because the envmaps would be too shiny.

Poeeyan, a shader is code that tells the gpu how to display a texture. A shader applied to a model is commonly refered to as a material. Phong shading is a simple shader that allows for glossy highlights on materials, most metals in source games have that already. Every single object infact has a shader even just a very simple one otherwise it would just be black.
ReShade is an injection tool that can access display shaders (since what's you see is also just a texture in the end) to change the look of a game, but that's about where the similarities end here.
