Description
This mod is meant to be played with VANILLA EU4 and should be compatible with most graphics mods but not total overhaul mods

Mod aimed at improving the currently rather disappointing colonialism experience in EU4.

(Note: this mod is meant to be played with all DLCs, I cannot guarantee the mod will be stable or error-free without them)

-About half the Natives have been removed and their ability to expand has been severely restricted, North America is no longer fully consumed by giant federations by 1550
-Primary culture of colonial nations will slowly spread throughout their nation over time
-Colonial nations cannot colonize outside their colonial regions
-Cantons for colonial flags, flag of the overlord is placed in the corner of the flag as opposed to it taking up half the flag
-Adjusted colors for some colonial regions
-Adjusted borders for colonial regions to allow for more historical divisions
-Mechanics for colonial European culture spread have been adjusted, new cultures will remain within their colonial nation's borders
-Province names across the New World for France, England/GB, Castile/Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Chinese nations borrowed from the New World Colony Names mod
-Viceroyalty government titles for Spanish and Portugese colonies
-Colonial nations cannot fight their own wars (you can still fight wars in the new world yourself or use the subject interaction to start a war in the colony)
-New diplomatic action under the influence tab that allows you to prevent a subject from colonizing (togglable)
-Adjustments to ideagroups to slow down colonialism
-Slightly adjusted Portugal color


New (and improved existing) Colonial Cultures:
-Mexican for Iberians
-Antillan for Iberians
-Colombian for Iberians
-Andean for Iberians
-Platinean for Iberians
-Brazilian for Portugal

-American for British culture group
-Canadian for British culture group
-Amerikaans for the Dutch
-Boer culture in South Africa for the Dutch

-Quebecois for French culture group
-Louisianans for French culture group

all of these take between 25 to 100 years to spawn after a colonial nation is formed with the exception of Canadian which takes between 50 and 200 years to spawn

can you make a submod for the spreading of a colony's primary culture through their territory?

Question, can the the Province names across the New World for France, England/GB, Castile/Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Chinese nations borrowed from the New World Colony Names mod be toggled off. I like to use the "Dynamic Province Names for the Entire World" mod and im pretty sure it will cause some interference with province names with this mod if I use it.

This mod causes crashes with other mods, especially ones that actually make any real changes to the diplomatic tech tree.

It seems a bit overkill that you'd have to replace the entire tech tree for one line's worth of changes at dip tech 7 (-25 colonial range vs vanilla).

To test this, if you'd like, you could install Harb's development mod and try mousing over any of the new buildings that are normally unlocked at diplomatic tech levels, and it'll immediately CTD. In the building manager it doesn't cause the crashes, but you can't build them as they never unlock.

I report that wenro (which no longer exists with this mod) still has a province of tribal land around the great lakes

I don't know if this has been said yet but India is being assimilated to dutch because of the VOC that the Netherlands can release.

Uh i found out that if i run the mod with Historical Colonies on it crashes the game as soon as i select a start date later than about 1650

@Immortal Zek i fixed those issues within the mod, though I have to warn you its probably incompatible with major overhaul mods.

Ok so I figured out that it was a problem of one of the submods I had for that mod which was causing the issue. Now it pops up, and hopefully it will pop up when getting those regions. I will say that for some reason boer and amerikaan is not capitalized. Not sure how to fix that. Also, in your mod, amerikaan is also not capitalized.
