The Dreamer

Description
Disclaimer

The Dreamer is a reimagining of the Revelations Knight, with altered art assets and entirely different stats and combat skills. This rework has been made with permission, and full credit goes to the original creators of the mod for allowing this redesign to exist.

The design philosophy of the Dreamer differs significantly from the Revelations Knight. The Dreamer is balanced around the vanilla Darkest Dungeon experience, and was designed to be easy to both use and understand. The current version DOES come with the boss featured in the Revelations Knight, but it is a camping nightmare encounter instead of a roamer.

The Dreamer is NOT compatible with the Revelations Knight, and having both enabled on the same save file is likely to result in crashes and/or bugs.

Localization

The Dreamer is currently available in english, chinese, korean, and russian. Other languages will only have english text (but not blue strings). If you would like to translate, message me on steam as soon as possible!

Thanks to 54NBB for the chinese translation!
Thanks to Ordinary Person for the russian translation!
Thanks to 이상적번역은이상하오 for the korean translation!

Introduction

"Dreams...figments of our imagination. Or are they?"

The Dreamer is a brand new class mod for Darkest Dungeon with fully custom sounds, art, and animations! A mysterious knight with a terrible secret, the Dreamer has come to the Hamlet in the name of redemption, looking to absolve herself of crimes long forgotten. But what else stalks in her shadow?

Combat Skills

The Dreamer is a mode based hero, with two forms: Dreaming, and Lucid. Dreaming is her default human form, where she is a protective hero with good supportive options but poor DMG and little ability to hit the back ranks. Lucid is her monstrous form, which has very high DMG vs any rank and strong mark synergy, along with a riposte that activates when below 25% HP. Switching between modes can be done by using her custom move skill.

Camping Skills

Additional Information
  • The Dreamer is religious.
  • The Dreamer comes with a full set of regular, CC, and CoM trinkets, along with some universal trinkets (not heads).
  • If the Dreamer lands a critical hit, she reduces the stress of other heroes by -2. This is in addition to the normal stress healing provided by a crit.
  • The Dreamer does not use any districts, and does not come with a town event.
  • Her canon name is Keller.

Camping Flashback

The Dreamer is haunted by an eldritch abomination which manifests itself at camp. At every camp, the Dreamer has a 50/50 chance to suffer a flashback where a boss must be fought. Only 3 of these flashbacks can occur per campaign, and each one awards a Dreamer specific trinket.

Note that the flashback boss has skills that you, as the player, must select the target of. If you enter this boss and believe you are softlocked - this is not a bug! You need to manually select a hero to be targetted!

(Dunno if this has been mentioned already) During the lvl 2 Sunken Crew fight, the Dreamer got hooked by the crew's summon. On trying to use Shifting Slash on the summon, the game crashed to desktop instantly. On loading back in, the Dreamer was on death's door - but using Shifting Slash on the summon didn't crash the game this time.

As the previous post said probably due to the the last update the Dreamer doesn't appear in the coach anymore. The mod did work properly earlier, but now I have no idea what do.
I use the legacy version of the game (which works for every other, about 100 mods), I increased the number of cards and the cards chance in the deck to 100, I unsubscribed and subscribed again for the mod, but nothing helps. I also get the trinkets, just not the character.
I wonder if there is any solution for it.

So I played with this mod around 20 ingame weeks and Dreamer just not coming at coach(I have expanded version with 16 recruits).Trinkets are dropping from CC and the mod is activited above the mod list. I don't have installed Revelations Knight or another added class except The Duchess, only skin mods for monsters or heroes. I also changed game version from current version to legacy but it also didn't work. What is the reason or am I something missing?

Honestly one of the better modded classes out there. Really fun and satisfying to play. Animations and thematic feel make her seem like she was always meant to be in the game. A must pick!

Also, the boss is well balanced, even easy for a begginer party. Interesting combat mechanics, and it actually saved my expedition, since put the strees of my already aflicted dreamer to 0 after beating it, wich was actually easy enough for a level 0 team resolve. The dreamer alone quicked his ass badly.

I like those nightmare bosses. More content to beat, more challange to overcome, more darkness and bodies to feed the darkest dungon.
