All "Dead" Achievements

Overall Pointers:
For all of these achievements, you just need to play through the game to be honest. If you need any help with a specific boss go to my Boss Patterns & Tips Guide or leave a comment! This guide has every boss attack, how to know that attack is coming, and how to defend against that attack.

My recommended order to kill the bosses: Progenitor → Vesicle → Eremite and Spectre → Furnace → Migraine → Puppeteer → Totem → Glass Master → The Silenced → Scourge

All "Erased" Achievements

Overall Pointers:
  • It's okay to take damage as long as you get the achievement! (Unless the achievement specifically says not to take damage...)
  • I recommend doing these achievements after you have all the upgrades unlocked. It makes doing them so much easier.
  • Some, if not all of these achievements will take a couple tries. If you get frustrated or after many attempts you just cant do it, come back! You'll have a better time and be better at the game.
  • Make sure your dodge meter is always at least a little full.

Progenitor Erased
Kill Progenitor without exploding

Strategy:
  • When Progenitor uses Beetle Summons, just shoot through the wall of beetles and spray them down from the outside. Other than that this achievement should be a breeze.

Vesicle Erased
Never allow Vesicle to heal

Strategy:
  • Vesicle heals every time a purple beetle touches him, so anytime Vesicle summons those purple beetles, focus them immediately. They come from far away so you should have plenty of time to take them all out.
  • If you have trouble taking them all out, push Vesicle away using Ignite to get him farther away.
  • It's okay to take damage to prevent Vesicle from healing!

Eremite and Spectre Erased
Kill Eremite first

Strategy:
  • This isn’t a hard achievement, just tedious since Spectre constantly heals Eremite.
  • Focus attacks on Eremite until he dies.
  • If you notice Spectre about to heal Eremite, get in close to them and use your explode attack to push Eremite away from Spectre. This won't prevent all healing but will reduce it somewhat.

Furnace Erased
Never allow Smelter to get the sword

Strategy:
  • Smelter gets a sword once Furnace dies. Because of this, you need to kill Smelter before killing Furnace. Get Furnace down to 40% hp to summon Smelter, then kill Smelter before Furnace.
  • Smelter is easy since he has next to no attacks. Just continue to dodge Furnace while you focus fire on Smelter.

Puppeteer Erased
Never take damage from the clock

Strategy:
  • This achievement is pretty hard to do since you need to have very good timing with the Final Dial Strike attack.
  • You cannot take any damage from clocks; this damage includes the Dial Strike and the Final Dial Strike.
  • Dodge the Dial Strikes like normal. When it comes to the Final Dial Strike, wait until it’s about to damage you then start spamming the dodge button. If you can figure out the timing that's best, but I've beat it by spamming dodge right before I took the clock damage.

Migraine Erased
Never take damage when fighting Migraine

Strategy:
  • The hardest part of this achievement is the first phase of the fight. Go up to Migraine every time your explosion recharges and use it. Be very mindful of the slugs and if need be, dodge through them.
  • Repeat this process until Migraine’s shell cracks, then the rest of the fight should be easy sailing.

Totem Erased
Never fire a bullet or explode when fighting Totem

Strategy:
  • Until you fire a bullet or explode (whether or not it hits Totem), Totem takes damage from his own lasers. This is how to do the achievement.
  • You still take damage from the lasers, so I suggest saving dodges for when you need to go through lasers; as a last resort, use dodges to not take damage from bomb attacks.
  • Be very wary of dodging into Totem. Every time I failed this achievement it was because I dodged into Totem when trying to escape him—which is an instant death.
  • Totem’s attacks speed up late in the fight, but early in the fight you still have time to heal so take advantage of that if you need it.
  • Stand where Totem is likely to get hit by the most lasers.

Glass Master Erased
Never take damage when fighting Glass Master

Strategy:
  • The random glass shots are sometimes hard to dodge, but you can either dodge through them or use your explosion to break them before they hit you.
  • Keep a keen eye on your character and his immediate surroundings. The teleportation attack is one of the hardest to dodge unless you’re watching your character.
  • Once the two glass ranges arise on the inside of the arena, try to stick to the outside of the arena. Between the two, you need to follow a path and it’s much easier to take damage from it then just following the outside of the arena.
  • Don’t be reserved with your dodges and explosions.

The Silenced Erased
Kill The Silenced within 60 seconds

Strategy:
  • Where The Silenced spawns is a platform surrounded by masks. It’s a much smaller platform but you deal double damage on it.
    • The masks that surround this arena always face towards The Silenced, which comes in handy for the thick fog.
  • When the fight starts, immediately dodge through The Silenced onto the bridge instead of luring him away. This shaves off a few seconds from the fight, and those few seconds could give you the achievement.
  • When The Silenced attacks you, use your explosion attack. If it’s on cool down dodge through him. This method works with almost all of the boss’s attacks in the fight.
  • Remember to constantly shoot at The Silenced, don’t let off for even a second when you’re dodging or exploding.

Scourge Erased
Kill Scourge without exploding

Strategy:
  • The hardest part of this fight is the first phase—the Body. Exploding is very useful against the beetles, so make sure to keep watch of them and dodge through them if you need to. You can also take the time to gun them all down.
  • You get a nice break in between each phase of the fight; use this time to heal once. Sometimes, you can manage twice by exploding the enemies away.
  • Make sure your dodge meter is always at least a little full, this will save you since you can’t push the enemies away. Especially in the final half of the last phase when the Eye starts going fast.

All "Law" Achievements (Part 1)

Overall Pointers:
  • It's okay to take damage as long as you get the achievement! (Unless the achievement specifically says not to take damage...)
  • I recommend doing these achievements after you have all the upgrades unlocked. It makes doing them so much easier.
  • Some, if not all of these achievements will take a couple tries. If you get frustrated or after many attempts you just cant do it, come back! You'll have a better time and be better at the game.
  • Make sure your dodge meter is always at least a little full.
  • The Ignite Trick: As soon as a boss physically touches you, use your Ignite attack. This pushes the boss around 2x further than normal Ignite.

The Law of Motherhood
Kill Progenitor without moving

Strategy:
  • This sometimes comes down to RNG. If Progenitor does the Beetle Summons attack, you will die most of the time. Out of the 40 something attempts at this achievement, I only survived this attack twice. Just spray and pray.
  • You will take damage, it is inevitable. Just remember to keep track of how much health you have left so you can heal.
  • As soon as you notice Progenitor doing either Beetle Summon, ignore him and immediately start spraying bullets around you. Wait until the last possible second to use your explosion. This gives you your best chance of surviving these attacks.
  • You want Progenitor as close as possible to make sure the majority of your bullets hit. However, if you need to regain health do the Ignite Trick to push Progenitor back very far. The only downside of this is you can’t see what attack he does next so prepare for anything.

The Law of Growth
Kill Vesicle without leaving the bridge

The Bridge:

Strategy:
  • Try to keep Vesicle as close to you as you can. Only do the Ignite Trick when you need to regain a lot of health or he uses his Purple Beetles Summon.
  • There are times you need to dash. Be very careful when dashing and have good control to make sure you don’t go off the bridge.
  • You will almost always take damage when Vesicle uses his Black Holes attack. I usually stay at one edge of the bridge, and dodge when the majority of them are imploding.

The Law of Faith
Ring the bell

Strategy:
  • You must ring the bell while both Eremite and Spectre are still alive, AND kill them both. Ringing it when one is dead and the other is alive or when both are dead won’t complete the achievement.
    • Ring the bell by shooting at it from up close.
  • Ringing the bell gives Spectre all his health back, and makes Eremite completely invisible (including health) for the rest of the fight.
  • Play very reserved, don’t shoot in the direction you think Eremite might be, and only attack Spectre until he is dead since he can heal Eremite.
  • Once only Eremite is alive, only shoot at him when he’s doing one of his attacks so he can’t dash at you.
  • Use sound and visual cues to know where he’s at, gently shooting him can also help you know where he’s at. If he gets too close to you use your explosion to push him away.

The Law of Light
Never dodge when fighting Furnace and Smelter

Strategy:
  • There’s only one attack I actually used dodge for and that was Furnace’s Spinning Lunge attack. When you notice this attack coming, get as far away from him as possible to outrun this attack.
  • If you can’t get far enough away from the Spinning Lunge attack, keep in mind that Furnace always spins counter-clockwise. Try to match Furnace’s spin so that the blade doesn’t touch you.
  • Other than that, kill Furnace first. Even though Smelter is a better version of Furnace, having two enemies in the arena at once without being able to dodge is harder than a better Furnace.

The Law of Mental Health
Do not dodge when fighting Puppeteer

Strategy:
  • For the most part, the only time when you need to dodge is when Puppeteer uses his Dial Strike attack. You know when this attack is coming because Puppeteer’s mask gets on top of you preventing you from seeing your surroundings. Every time the mask gets on top of you, move in a straight line to outrun this attack. Other than that, play as normal.
  • Being unable to dodge also means you can’t dodge the Final Dial Strike. You will take damage every time you enter the Puppeteer body room. This deals 1 damage per strike, so make sure to take time to regain health. Otherwise, by the end of the fight you may take too much damage.

All "Law" Achievements (Part 2)

The Law of Instinct
Summon the second ring

Strategy:
  • To summon the second ring, you need to dodge out of Migraine’s original ring until the purple haze is over. The second ring will then be summoned.
  • Summoning the second ring completely revives Migraine’s health, but does not give his shell back. So, crack his shell first then summon the second ring.
  • I find it easier to stay in the inner most ring. If Migraine dashes at you, use your explosion to stun him. If Migraine does his laser attack, move along side it while shooting at Migraine.
  • Being in the inner ring, Migraine should die fast since almost all of your bullets consistently hit.
  • If you need to travel to and from the rings, always dodge. Otherwise you will take damage and possibly die.

The Law of Repentance
Do not dodge when fighting Totem

Strategy:
  • Try to stay on one side of the arena if you can. Since you can’t dodge the bombs, this gives you plenty of space to outrun the bombs.
  • Explosions propel bombs away, so if you can’t outrun all of the bombs, use your explosion to not take damage.
  • Assuming you take damage, heal whenever you can. The best time to heal is when Totem starts his AOE explosion.

The Law of Space
Never dodge when fighting Glass Master

Strategy:
  • The hardest attack is the teleportation attack, since you need to know the second it’s coming to move out of the way.
  • Another hard attack is the rapid-fire glass shards, put yourself in a position so you can walk against the way it’s shooting, and if you can’t wait until the last second to use your explosion.
  • Don’t be afraid to take damage, sometimes you need to take damage to deal more damage or to even survive till the end of the fight.

The Law of Knowledge
Kill The Silenced before killing Migraine

Strategy:
  • If you’ve killed all the bosses, I recommend just starting over instead of doing Easy mode since you know how to kill all the bosses in normal mode.
  • The order of bosses you need to kill: Progenitor → Vesicle → Eremite and Spectre → Puppeteer → Totem → The Silenced
    • You can swap the placement of Vesicle / Eremite and Spectre, but you must kill them both before you continue.
    • You can choose to kill Furnace if you wish, but he doesn’t give you an upgrade so you don’t need to kill him before you follow the above order.
    • You must kill both Vesicle & Eremite and Spectre to unlock the dash ability. This will be needed against both Totem and The Silenced
  • • The Silenced is a hard fight since all of your abilities recharge slowly, and you probably won’t get a chance to heal bec

The Law of Entropy
Do not destroy any crystals

Strategy:
  • It’s much harder for Scourge to heal when he’s being attacked, so don't stop shooting at him.
  • For the first part, keep focus on the body at first. Try to attack the beetles as little as possible.
  • The second phase is probably the hardest since the limbs often go off screen so you can’t see where they are. You also can’t get as close to them as the other two body parts (the body and the eye).
  • For the final phase against the Eye, it’s more important to be able to dodge than to constantly damage the eye. When your dodge meters becomes empty, make sure to pause shooting until you get enough to dodge at least once more.

Secret Achievements

Overall Pointers:
  • For the Eight Bears Dead, Dying Ember Dead, Extinction, and The End of the Universe achievements, refer to my Boss Patterns & Tips Guide to know the best methods to kill these bosses on each mode.

Eight Bears Dead
Kill Eight Bears

Strategy:
  • To enter this secret boss arena, press the button “b” 8 times in a row. You’ll then be transported to the arena.

Dying Ember Dead
Kill Dying Ember

Strategy:
  • To unlock this boss fight, you need to get the achievement The Law of Entropy—to kill Scourge without breaking any of the healing crystals.

Eight Bears Hunted
Kill Eight Bears using only explosions

Strategy:
  • If you feel remotely threatened, dodge away from the bears since they instantly kill you. Their hitboxes also feel a bit weird.
  • Try to get as many bears in one explosion as you can without being dangerous. Your damage increases for each bear in your explosion radius.

Dying Ember Extinguished
Only use explosions when killing Dying Ember

Strategy:
  • This is going to be a long fight. You only do 750 damage with each explosion so you need to hit Dying Ember with a total of 40 explosions.
  • To decrease how long this fight takes, try to hit Dying Ember with your explosion as soon as it recharges. The outside of the explosion does just as much damage as the inside does.
  • Dodging does deal minimal damage to bosses, however you can still get the achievement by damaging him in this way. Don’t be afraid to dodge through him if you need an escape.
  • You will be dodging a lot in this fight, since you’re not shooting your dodge meter should always be full.
  • Given this is a long fight, it might also be useful to regenerate your health while you recharge your dodge. I found the most dangerous attack to be Weeping Dash, and this prevents instant deaths.

Extinction
Kill Eight Bears in Easy Mode

Strategy:
  • Unlike normal Literally Eight Bears, Easy Literally Eight Bears heals whenever you use your explosion attack on them.
  • Only use your explosion attack for emergencies when you cannot dodge.

The End of the Universe
Kill Dying Ember on Easy Mode

Strategy:
  • You need very good dodge control to get this achievement.
  • Easy Dying Ember is the exact same as normal Dying Ember, except he has faster attack speed. This is the only reason you need to have very good dodge control.

Other Achievements

Dead
Dead

Strategy:
  • You get this achievement the first time you die.
  • No, I'm not giving any pointers on how to get this one.

Lies
Complete DEAD in Easy Mode

Strategy:
  • You need to kill all 12 bosses (which includes both hidden bosses) to get this achievement.
  • Refer to my Boss Patterns & Tips Guide for any boss you may be stuck on.
Video Demo:

Corruption
Complete DEAD with Boss Rush Mode and One Hit Mode enabled

Strategy:
  • This is by far the hardest achievement. That’s mainly because if you make a single mistake you need to start over from scratch. That’s also because of RNG. 95% of this game is skill, but sometimes that 5% of luck ♥♥♥♥♥ you over and a boss does an attack you cannot avoid.
  • I recommend completing both Boss Rush and One Hit Mode a few times before going into this achievement, so you can practice the mode and the bosses.
  • If you have trouble with any bosses in particular, you can do Practice mode so you practice against those particular bosses.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings. It’s okay if some fights are long, as long as you live to fight the next boss.

End of an Age
Complete DEAD with Boss Rush Mode and Easy Mode enabled

Strategy:
  • I recommend going into practice mode while on Easy to practice all the Easy mode bosses. Practice these bosses until you can consistently kill them without dying.
