Description
A collection of miniatures made from 3D models extracted from video-games, with some bias towards monsters and RTS units.

UPDATE: I've decided to stop working on minis for a while, mostly to focus on other personal projects, but also for a diminishing interest in this project. I may return to making miniatures some time in the future, but I can't make promises. Hope this page has and will continue to be useful for other people.

Wababoi: I've been getting similar warnings with other mods I've subscribed to, but their contents seem to be in order (including this one, at least from my side). Might be a minor server issue, but do warn me if something else goes wrong.

soo, the mod when install, it says that there's an error "k_EResuktFail Steam Files Empty"

Rise of Legends is pretty old. Thanks for your help! I hope you have a great day!

Dee: Thank you very very much =)

Unfortunately I don't have plans for coming back to this mod. Nowadays I'm making smaller mods whenever the mood allows me.

But I can still help with some info: I extracted the models using a program called "Ninja Ripper", which sort of takes a "3d screenshot" of game models and their textures, which you can then import into your 3d software of choice. Ninja Ripper 2 is the current version, but you have to pay some bucks to acquire it, while 1.7 is freely available (it tends to only work on older games, but probably won't be an issue with RoL).

Hey, thanks for all the hard work you put into this mod, and especially for the Rise of Legends models you put in here. It's been so long since I've seen anyone talk about that gem of a game!

I was wondering, do you think it'd be possible to (at some point) add some of the other units from RoL, like the cargo dirigible or the Doge Hammer? If not, do you think you could tell me how you managed to get them in the first place so I can try my hand at it? Thanks in advanced, and I hope you have a great day!

that would be awesome! Hope your vacation is going well too, as much as I miss the updates, i certainly hope you're getting the rest you need.

Yep, those were cool. Who knows, maybe when I come out of hiatus I'll start mods for non-video game stuff.

Its not exactly a video game but war of the worlds martian tripods would be super fun

Hey Nigel. Yes, it's feasible, I did extract a couple of models from Xcom 2 for this mod (and my custom miniatures one). Personally I used the program "Ninja Ripper 2" to take a "3d screenshot" while playing Xcom (just after creating the soldiers), before importing them into Blender and turning them into a proper Obj file+PNG Texture, but you may find some other ways to import the model. The Unreal Engine Viewer may be useful.

Hi! I was inspired by your XCOM 2 soldier models. I was looking for a way to have somewhat customizable soldier minis for Five Parsecs from Home without spending hundreds exporting small variations from HeroForge, and I was wondering if using the custom soldiers from XCOM 2 to make models and then export them somehow would be a viable option? I've had mixed success searching around for advice, so thought I'd just ask directly since you've managed to pull some generic rookies and put them in this mod!
