Description
Pepe's Wars:

Pepe's Wars is a series of ship collections intended to tell a story, showing an evolution of ship design as a series of wars progressed across the galaxy. Each collection or 'line' of ships was created with a core idea in mind, and the ships within that line are an evolution of one to another, guided by the demands of the wars. Additionally, each different line shows a rough timeline, and you should see how one line becomes obsolete or surpassed by the next 'technological advancement'. For example, the 'beamships' line got out-ranged by the subsequent 'railgun kiters' line, which in turn were beaten out by the 'lensing ships'. Download all collections in the Pepe's Wars series to get the full story in the ships' descriptions.

All ships in the Pepe's Wars collection have been designed for function above form, so please read the descriptions or the ship info in-game to understand my core concepts behind each design. They are not the prettiest ships, but hopefully you will agree they are effective at their roles.

Sentry Platforms:

Since the second war onwards, sentry platforms were used as near-static emplacements to defend targets. Present in all subsequent eras in one variation or another, most sentries were designed to be somewhat disposable.

The Ships:

Garde
The Garde is a cheap defensive position, relying on relatively thick armor for its price point and 360 turret arcs. Each cardinal direction brings to bear a heavy blaster and a disruptor, ideal for a jack-of-all-trades combat role. The Garde's vital systems are encased behind thick armor but no shielding (to save on cost and manpower), and should be able to take quite a beating before getting disabled. Use this version of the platform when expecting much incoming firepower, but expect a dedicated attacker to overcome if with ease. Alternatively, The Warden version offers increased firepower and range at the expense of durability, while The Curator offers it all but at great cost.

Warden
The Warden is a lighter version of The Curator sentry platform. This version comes at a much reduced cost, at the expense of lighter dual-emitter rather than quad-emitter laser beams and much reduced shielding. Nonetheless, The Warden still maintains hyperjump capability and small maneuvering thrusters to keep it aligned. This version of the sentry platform should be deployed to defend lower-priority targets, but all the same do not underestimate its firepower. The third version of the sentry platform, The Garde, should be used if the platform itself is expected to come under substantial enemy fire.

Curator
The Curator is easily the most expensive of the sentry platforms, fielding two heavy quad-emitter laser beams with a combined 360 firing angle. It has passable shielding and armor, relying more on its sheer damage output to melt targets before it comes under much threat itself. The Curator is relatively expensive and it used to defend very valuable targets; its stripped-down cheaper sister variant, The Warden, is deployed to lower-priority defence missions, while the cheapest yet heavily-armored Garde is used then self-defence is the priority.
