Description
Pepe's Wars:

Pepe's Wars is a series of ship collections intended to tell a story, showing an evolution of ship design as a series of wars progressed across the galaxy. Each collection or 'line' of ships was created with a core idea in mind, and the ships within that line are an evolution of one to another, guided by the demands of the wars. Additionally, each different line shows a rough timeline, and you should see how one line becomes obsolete or surpassed by the next 'technological advancement'. For example, the 'beamships' line got out-ranged by the subsequent 'railgun kiters' line, which in turn were beaten out by the 'lensing ships'. Download all collections in the Pepe's Wars series to get the full story in the ships' descriptions.

All ships in the Pepe's Wars collection have been designed for function above form, so please read the descriptions or the ship info in-game to understand my core concepts behind each design. They are not the prettiest ships, but hopefully you will agree they are effective at their roles.

Enforcement:

Military vessels were deployed to dispel piracy throughout the outer systems, and in the third and fourth wars a line of 'enforcement' vessels were specifically designed for that role. Their focus was always on adaptability and self-reliance, being so far from the core. They tended to operate in pairs.

The Ships:

Gnosis
The Gnosis is a multi-role combat vessel, adept at engaging targets at any range, was sent to the outer systems during the third and fourth wars and peacetimes to quell dissent, and so had to be ready for anything. It used its dual-barrel railgun to decapitate key systems from range with support from its heavy forward shielding, and then its two deck howitzers rain shells upon the target when precision is no longer required. A couple of disruptors both fore and aft and a handful of point defence cannons provide survivability if choosing to engage up close. Hidden internal maneuvering thrusters keep the ship operational for longer. The Gnosis were assisted by The Praxis in the fifth war.

Praxis
The Praxis supported The Gnosis in battling piracy in the fifth war onwards. It retains the latter's strength of engagement at all ranges while plugging its main weakness - fighting outnumbered. Its flanks are lined with multiple disruptors and blasters instead of the short-range deck cannons. The railgun is supplemented by two additional smaller railguns, offering a better chance to hit smaller faster targets. The shielding is greatly improved in all directions, allowing it to better fend of multiple attackers. The Praxis was more than capable of surviving the basic weaponry found on raider ships, and could take on whole swarms of cheap frigates. It even worried Zonin in his Phobos.
