APRIL 13th, 1989 - Earl suddenly receives a call that tells him to "take care" of a methadone clinic where another operative is being held. However, the job proves to be difficult in more ways than one.

EARL: Earl was life's punching bag. Everyone seemed to be out to take advantage of his goodwill for their own benefit. Despite this, Earl continued to let himself remain an open book. He had grown resistant to it all, which allowed him to remain vulnerable. Earl chose to believe the world was a good place. Perhaps not out of obliviousness, but willful ignorance. Other people in his life knew something he didn't: the world can be good not as a result of how much you believe it, but where you are. Earl was in the wrong place, and his resilience made him think he didn't have to move.

This level is part of a series I'm calling ONESHOTS, where I make levels and stories for the operatives we never really get to see. Earl is a walking doormat that wears a walrus mask. Like always, the player spritework is simple. I really don't have the time to edit the whole spritesheet for a character that I'll only use in one level. Death sprites show off his full appearance. Earl wears a white tank top with blue sweatpants and black shoes.

NOTES:

- His appearance is based of off the dead operative in the first HM game. I mistook his appearance and gave him a large body type like Jake or Martin. Still not gonna change it, though lol

- Due to the level editor's difficulty in handling cutscenes, the cutscene where you find the operative may be a little wonky. I've experienced similar issues in the main game's cutscenes SO I KNOW IT'S NOT JUST ME, EVEN THE DEVS HAD TROUBLE WITH IT!
