Description
Ares Magazine #6. This is a prequel to The Wreck of the B.S.M. Pandora.

Full rules and background info into the game can be had at https://archive.org/details/AresMagazine06_VoyageoftheBSMPandora

This is a solitaire game of interstellar exploration. The player controls the Biological Survey Mission Pandora as it travels the space ways in search of alien life forms. The player uses the crew, robots and equipment of the ship to collect exotic specimens with a minimum of losses --and hopefully get back intact. The game has two time scales, the tour months that affect the "strategic" play, going from planet to planet, and the expedition hours, the tactical on planet play. It uses an event paragraph system to generate the narrative flow, and the map shows several planet surfaces.

The event paragraphs are represented on the cards in the solo players hand area. Each card stack has a group of about 50 events. They are laid out sequentially to make it easy to find the right paragraph.

Stacks of numbered counters have been included to keep track of various attributes (character, bots, gear). they can be found near the main characters and on the right hand side of the table.

The colored cubes are to mark off character, bot and equipment stats such as endurance.

Use the Notepad to keep track of victory conditions.

Great mod. One little thing. Tools and monster should have info on the back instead of this SPI anagram :/ I'm new to this game and there's some info there I really need.

Awesome Tom. When I did a search for this, I really didn't expect to find it. I played this game endlessly back in the 80s and still manage to get it on the table at least once a year even today. It's absolutly one of my favorite games. Now, if you'll just convert Warlord of Mars from SPI, you'll have a friend for life ;-)

It takes a while to get used to and figure out the rules, but this is a great single-player game! If you want to learn how to play it, it is best to use the rules from the Ares Magazine, read up all topics from 1.0 to 3.5, and then start a game and read the rest of the rules as you go.

Some rules are annoying, such as not being able to enter a cave using a rover. For this particular rule, I used the advice from Darrell Pavitt that figures in this forum : https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/564619/ranger-and-few-other-questions-about-rules

Thanks a lot for this Tabletop Simulator version of the game!
