Based on the reliable DZ-02 standard issue car, the DZ-39 ISV features several modifications to enhance its firepower and ammunition capacity. The vehicle is crewed by three personnel, including a driver, a radio operator/commander, and a dedicated gunner.

The driver is responsible for maneuvering the vehicle on the battlefield, ensuring quick and agile movements to support infantry units effectively. The radio operator/commander plays a crucial role in communication, relaying vital information and coordinating with other units to maintain situational awareness.

The centerpiece of the DZ-39 ISV is its armament, consisting of a light autocannon. This autocannon provides fire support to suppress enemy positions and engage lightly armored targets. While primarily intended for engaging targets at a low range, the vehicle can still pose a threat to medium armored targets with its firepower.

To sustain prolonged engagements, the vehicle features an ammunition stowage where the last remaining seat used to be. This additional storage area holds up to 300 rounds of autocannon ammunition, while the turret drum itself accommodates 100 rounds. This ample ammunition capacity ensures a sustained rate of fire during intense firefights.

The DZ-39 ISV, with its compact and agile design, is well-suited for providing direct fire support in urban environments and complex terrains where maneuverability is critical. Its firepower and ammunition capacity make it an effective force multiplier, bolstering the combat effectiveness of infantry units.
