Artificial Wood Flooring

Now 100% less flammable: get the wooden look you love without the worry!



One of my animist pawns wanted a shrine, and I decided on wood as a building material since it works quite well with the animist style. However, I didn't want to accidentally burn down my base, and thus, this mod was born!



This mod simply adds in a version of the vanilla wood floor along with a horizontal version (thanks to fishbones for their original set of horizontal wooden floors), both of which are made of steel instead of wood. Both floors have the same stats as the vanilla wood floors, but, unlike the vanilla wood floors, they aren't flammable.

In order to create these faux-wood floor tiles, you need to have researched smithing and then artificial wood flooring.



I don't know of any compatibility issues apart from perhaps Stuffed Floors, which, to my understanding, slightly changes the way flooring is implemented in the game and "non-stuffed" floors like these may show up as duplicates. I'm thinking about making a compatible version if needed, but this is my very first mod, and I'd like to do additional testing (and actually play my game) before messing around with it any more.



In terms of a TOU, I'm not sure if Rimworld modders are at all strict with how their code is used, but for me personally, do whatever you want with it. Feel free to add more floor types, paint it purple, use it to keep the next trigger-happy pawn with a flamethrower at bay, etc.
