[Inazuma Class] IRN Special Submarine Inazuma

Description
Go subscribe to one of the I-401 submarines instead if you're just interested in the look, they are the original designs and are better to use, while this is essentially a proof of concept for Ballast Submarines.

After building the I-19 and while working on the last Unryuu class carrier, a crew of the IRN salvaged a well preserved wreck. After engineers studied the wreck, propositions to make an experimental Ballast Submarine were sent and eventually approved by the high command. After many different drafts were proposed, one was selected, going for isolating critical components and securing vital components away from the many ballasts. As the weaponry was still limited at the time, only older models of guns were mounted on the rebuilt ship. Engineers theorized that the rebuilt ship lost a lot of firepower, especially at the front as the generator there was not well understood enough to be reverse-engineered. While materials for the hull was plentiful, material for components was prioritized to the Unryuu Class, making the Inazuma's reactor the weakest in the IRN, and the engine was simply put an old unused model bought at low price. All of this combined lead to a less than ideal sub in horizontal combat, however the ability of the sub to almost completely flood itself give it an unrivaled diving speed, making any enemy trying to chase it an easy target for gunners.

A unique submarine in the IRN made from a salvaged wreck of a carrier submarine. The interior has been completely emptied and the ship was fully rebuilt as an experimental Ballast Submarine. Most of the compartments also serve as ballast, making movement inside less convenient without the appropriate equipment. Moreover, the large volume of water makes the submarine extremely slow but allows it to reach unrivaled diving speed.
