Having the worm needed to cure a fungal infection be rare on its own is fine, just keep an eye out for it and stash it somewhere ahead of possible infections. You can't do that if the required corpse is 400lbs, it makes the cure nearly unmovable; forcing you to find a new one every time you get infected. Snail farmers selling you the live snail could be an easy fix.
Butchered remains could be valid for the cure, but then builds that can't cook are going to be left out. 15 Int & 150 skill points into cooking is an investment some builds just don't have the budget for. That would punishes those players, though it's also a natural consequence - "the old way" is always an option; a compromise. The cure weighing 400lbs is far more punishing.
