GE 7HDL-16

Description
GE 7HDL-16

History

GE worked with Deutz-MWM of Germany in 1994 to design and construct the 6,250-horsepower 7HDL engine for the locomotives. The first locomotive with a 7HDL was the "Green Machine" GE 6000, nicknamed for its green paint scheme. The first production models were also built in 1995: CSX Transportation 600-602, and Union Pacific Railroad 7000-7009. All these locomotives were released to their respective owners in late 1996, once GE's testing was complete.

Installation

don't forget the clutch
Installation is simple, remove the temporary red fuel tank on the bottom of the engine, and send fuel to that pipe, then reroute your throttle logic and pump controls in the same way the temporary controls on the left side do. And as this has no cooling built in, you will have to add that yourself.

Generators included: (from top to bottom)
2940swatt
1975swatt
1405swatt
918swatt

Operation

Being a large engine, this has some power. Its operating range is 200-1050 RPM.
