Welcome to sunny San Rico, CA! Population: 837,000 Area: 125 sq mi

With a population of 837,000 the fictional City of San Rico, California occupies 125 square miles, and is situated just north of San Francisco and Oakland in Northern California. It would be the 17th largest city in the country, surpassing San Francisco (808,437) and competing with Indianapolis, IN (880,621) for 16th place.

San Rico has undergone de-industrialization. Unemployment peaked at 32% when education was maximized. All of the uneducated factory workers have left San Rico, and found work in the developing industrial hub of Portville. Accordingly, San Rico's population has declined by some 50,000.

From its humble beginnings in the suburbs of New Ionia & Glenn Park, San Rico was founded on March 22, 2023. Stretching from the farms and sawmills of Wheatfield and Porter in the city's far southeast side, through the urban sprawl of South San Rico, to the tourist destinations of Big San Rico Island & Little San Rico Island in the east, all the way through to the urban satelites of Gatwick and New Iberia. Head west to the subrubs of Corinthia and Spartacus, to the European inspired Westminster and West End suburbs. Head south and check out Commerce Plaza and you'll hit Old Downtown and New Downtown, where you'll find the Chicago inspired custom, handcrafted Wicker Park, Lincoln Park, and Millenium Park. This is a truly marvelous Cities: Skylines city, pushing the limits of PC hardware.

With 6 custom parks, including a completely custom handcrafted central park, nearly 2 million trees, multiple islands, including a Three Mile inspired nuclear genarating station island, an Alcatraz inspired prison island, and so much more, San Rico is a truly unique city to add to your Cities: Skylines collection. San Rico is a true masterpeice of modern marvel and civil engineering. Boasting close to 2 million trees, having hit the hard limit of service buildings and elevated roads, and nearing the zoning limit, San Rico is a truly gamebreaking experience. I am unable to build no more, and I am passing the torch along. Push the limits on the way to 1,000,000, and see if you can make it to 10th place on the list of U.S. cities!

Ferries, monorial, buses, harbors, metro hubs, the "L", the underground, rail and more! San Rico has it all! For a city of comprable size and population, the fictional San Rico Metropolitan Transit Authority delivers superior rapid tranist service to the citizens within the Greater San Rico Metropolitan Area. With over 50 different bus lines, nearly 50 metro lines, and a passenger and freight rail network, San Rico is truly an interconnected city. You'll spend hours alone following the nearly 100 miles of rail and metro network alone!

It took nearly 4 in game years alone to lay the initial highway & rail infrastructure. Racking up a total tab of $4.6 billion in game dollars, San Rico took nearly 50 years to pay off its debt and become profitable. Now, reaching the game and my PC's hardware limitations, San Rico has declined from its peak of 884,981 and lost its fictional title of 16th place back to my home state's capitol of Indianapolis. My goal was to reach 1,000,000, which would put me at 10th place on the list of most populous U.S. cities, in between Austin, TX (974k) and Dallas, TX (1.3m). Sadly, this is a dream for CS2 at this point, and I am passing the San Rico torch along. Have fun, and enjoy this city!
