The Coffin with the Big Stick
"Scott's Snake", the Union blockade of the entire Confederate coast, left the rebel fleet stranded in the rivers and ports, cut off from the rest of the world, including their allies the British. Little did the bluecoats sitting up high in their ships know, the "fish boat" was poised to strike right beneath them. This was submarine warfare, before U-Boats were cool. Our story begins in 1861. As the Union was buildings its first submarine, the Confederates were as well. Three different submarines were built: Pioneer, American Diver, and H. L. Hunley. Pioneer was scuttled as the Union soldiers approached on its home port, American Diver sunk in a storm with no losses, leaving H. L. Hunley, sometimes referred to as "fish boat", the only remaining submarine. It was almost as if the Hunley knew it was a submarine and tried its hardest to submerge and stay submerged. It sank on August 29th, 1863, killing five of its eight crew. The Confederates simply lifted the submarine back up, cleaned out the bodies, and returned it to service. When it sank a second time on October 15th, 1863, the entire crew was killed, taking the sub's designer, Horace L. Hunley, with it. Once again, the Confederates pulled it up, cleaned out the bodies, and returned to service. Thankfully, a naval officer said "no" to submerging, probably keeping the sub from sinking another five times. This didn't stop Hunley from doing its job, however. On February 17th, 1864, the USS Housatonic was moored off the coast of South Carolina, holding the blockade as night fell. The crew went about their normal business, not expecting a 100+ pound can of explosives to smash through their lower hull. The blockading ship sank in five minutes, taking five men with her and confusing the rest. The Confederates were about to get their fare share of confusion as Hunley vanished that same day. It was later found and raised on August 8th, 2000, and with it came the question of how the crew died. The most widely-used explanation is that the blast killed the crew, however, the models used and the distorted wreck causes issues in accuracy. Another theory, recently publicized by the National Geographic show Drain the Oceans, suggests that the crew died of asphyxiation. It benefits from more modern data gathering and other evidence, such as the lack of blast trauma on the crew's skeletons. We may never know what really happened to the fish boat...

Manual:
Operating the Crank: You can have a buddy turn the crank for you while you pilot, or you can hold 'q' on your crank, open your chat while holding 'q', release 'q', and exit the chat. This keeps you cranking without having to press anything. How it Works: As the crank turns, it generates electricity in the generator. A threshold reads the generator, and when it's above 0.01, it tells the infinite generator in the back to turn on, creating a dynamo. This electricity then can feed into a motor, which also only runs if the crank is turning. If RPS exchange between sub-bodies was different, this system wouldn't be in place, however, it is a fair use of an infinite generator. Blowing Something Up: Just run into something. Probably don't hit it at a deflection angle, it gets awkward when you're staring at the unharmed boat as the crew is staring back at you. You'll want to surface as fast as you can afterwards to repair the holes in the bow before you sink.

Author's Notes:
This replica of the Hunley is based off of the 1900 sketch by an unknown author. It is not accurate to the real thing, but matches the sketch closely. It's also easier for me to make since I'm not the best at boats. The design is a nice break from the many conventional designs already found on the workshop. Easy and fun to use, this beats all other Hunleys in performance. Anyways, hope you enjoy! It's my pleasure to flesh out history in a way you'll enjoy it, looking good, easy to understand, and fun to use.
