Powerpack

Description
Preface
Have you struggled with the power system? Are you confused about the relation between engine force and speed? Are you distressed about calculating and designing an appropriate performance growth curve corresponding to potential upgrades? Then try this! Version 0.3 (stable). If you like my design, please give it a thumbs up. The power pack will be installed on all my submarines.
This is a power pack design comes with the following predominant features:
  • Formula-based : All settings are calculated based on the formula.
  • Upgradation-based : Compatible with the upgrades available in the shipyard, offering finely tuned performance. It requires the corresponding/previous level of upgrading to perform ideally/properly.
  • Type-based : Distinctive characteristics correspond to the types of submarines
  • Battery-powered engine : engine are powered solely by batteries under normal mode
In the campaign set in Hellish difficulty with Jupiter radiation enabled, it offers a satisfying gaming experience. Lightweight design, thus no overpowered function. Please read the instruction manual before installation.

Description
All the main settings in this power pack come with explanations and calculations. I have organized the important potential upgrades from both the shipyard and talent. It took me quite a while to figure out the formula through regression analysis and clarify the effect of certain talents. In fact, I have also created an Excel table to automatically calculate the speed using the given basic information (If you really need it, please let me know). If the available upgrades change in the future, I will update them. The current version corresponds to game version 1.1
With a comprehensive understanding of the system, one can then design an upgradable power pack that has reasonable performance and distinctive characteristics based on the type of submarine you would like to install.

Scott submarine
Quantity
Remarks
Speed
25/30km/h~41/50km/h
normal/high-pressure mode, Baisc~Max performance
Power grid
normal/high-pressure mode
battery=>engine, reactor=>rest power grid/ battery=>engine, reactor=>all
Engine minimal energy coefficient
0.6
without the corresponding/previous tier upgradation of battery charging, the normal mode is not sustainable/bootable (when batteries run out)
Engine deterioration rate
0.12
100% of vanilla performance
Reactor Fuel consumption rate
0.224/0.317/0.445
T1/T2/T3, higher than vanilla, high output reactor
Reactor Fire delay
20s
100% of vanilla performance
Batteries capacity
1~1.7 min engine
short amount time that batteries can sustain (without charging)

Transport submarine
Quantity
Remarks
Speed
20/33km/h
normal mode, Baisc~Max performance
Power grid
normal mode
battery=>engine + mechanical equipment , reactor=>mechanical equipment + rest power grid
Engine minimal energy coefficient
0.4
without the corresponding tier upgradation of battery charging, the normal mode is not sustainable
Engine deterioration rate
0.12
100% of vanilla performance
Reactor Fuel consumption rate
0.112/0.159/0.209
T1/T2/T3, lower than vanilla, efficient-low output reactor
Reactor Fire delay
20s
100% of vanilla performance
Batteries capacity
1.5~3 min engine
moderate amount time that batteries can sustain (without charging)

Attack submarine
Quantity
Remarks
Speed
25/41km/h
normal mode, Baisc~Max performance
mechanical equipment
normal mode
battery=>engine + capacitor, reactor=>rest mechanical equipment+ capacitor
Engine minimal energy coefficient
0.5
without the corresponding tier upgradation of battery charging, the normal mode is not sustainable
Engine deterioration rate
0.1
80% of vanilla performance, harder to broke
Reactor Fuel consumption rate
0.224/0.317/0.417
T1/T2/T3, much higher than vanilla, safer reactor
Reactor Fire delay
40s
200% of vanilla performance, safer
Batteries capacity
2~3.4 min engine
large amount time that batteries can sustain (without charging)

@Baba Voss, I have just added a photo of the key formula to the description. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me!:lunar2019piginablanket:

@Baba Voss, I appreciate your suggestion! I will take a photo of the explanation and add it to the description.

It would be appreciated if you could create a guide for us explaining the formulas in detail. Many of us don't have a good understanding of the concepts and the learning resources out there are limited.

This is so helpful, thanks!
