D'OH BOY, IT’S TIME FOR TREPANG, BOYS.

Alright you, person who is reading this, who I view as nothing short of a square peg through the circular hole of life, you've probably played through the Halo games and took in Nathan Fillion's performance in Halo ODST, which I'd recommend against as it's not healthy to walk into a block of wood you weirdo, and you've probably played through all those Grand Theft Auto games oblivious to all the adulterated jokes flying over your head since you were playing them at an age too young to have yet seen a pair of baps, and I mean real ones, not the polythene that's passing for a feminine presence in those Impact games the Asians are stuck to like Algae Eaters on fish tanks.

But you didn’t play the real stuff, because you committed to that bespectacled nerd in the scientific knight armor trekking along Nondescriptistan. How’s that commitment been going? Rewarding, I’m sure. How much is the Valve Index again? Over a grand? Oh what’s that it’s out of stock again?

For those of us who took the right path though, there was F.E.A.R. The grungey misadventures of Slow Mo Ski-goggles Man on his mission to deliver a medicinal amount of Military Footsies to every swear-riddled clone that got between him and the prophetic fusion dance of Hannibal Lectre and Vincent Price he was hunting down that was Paxton Fettel.
Yeah, there was the scary Asian child too, because you know, Asians are scary, but you could slide kick her and watch that stringy-haired bint dart out the window if your CPU was clocked too high and your frame rate uncapped while using Xsplit or Ninjaripper, and that’s only if she wasn’t packing heat herself.

What, you didn’t believe me when I said Asians are scary? They’re especially scary when they hunt in packs, and Asians are if nothing else a bulk order. Oi vey.

F.E.A.R. was full of good times, and when we weren’t dodging the paranormal or when Fettel wasn’t hitting you with Nathan Fillion's performance in Halo ODST --

-- there was always that trusty rifle by our side to deal with the identical hoards; the massé
shot onto the foul-mouthed masses en masse hon hon. You remember the one, the hunting rifle turned military slugger with the little green foregrip that tore up the concrete floors like disco night and construction day were gathering for the YMCA concert. And now she returns to us, not completely in her original form, that is hopefully for another day, but in the DMR she was originally slated to be. In F.E.A.R.’s early development days, this gun was meant to be the sniper, but became the assault rifle after the team decided the sniper should also turn it’s targets into skeletons - no one on the planet complained. Consider this an archaeological configuration.

There were no sequels. Ever. And entertaining the thought of the hypothetical F.E.A.R. 2 or 3 that don’t exist is punishable by way of several smacks on the wrist with Nathan Fillion.


The Reaper has called! Mostly because he needs a break from throwing fellow wrestlers into the subway train. He works in mysterious ways, and he’s on a budget like the rest of us, but what budget he can spare he’s relinquished onto you in the form of this nifty little piece: This is the DMR from Trepang2 with a few tweaks to make it more closely resemble the rifle it’s based on, the G2A2 from F.E.A.R., which is itself based on the HK SL8. Look, guns are confusing, especially when passed through the filter of sheltered Seattleites – next thing you know they’ll be giving MP7’s invisible grenade launchers too. How silly. This gun replaces the Military Sniper on it’s own animations, retargeted to L4D2’s skeleton by me.
