The boomerang is a new generation wheeled armored personnel carrier developed by Russia to replace the aging BTR-80 series of vehicles. Due to the modular design, the VPK-7829 Bumerang will play many different roles. In addition to the transportation
function, it can also play the roles of armored ambulance, command vehicle, reconnaissance vehicle, Anti-tank guided missile launcher, anti-aircraft missile launcher, Fire support vehicle, and self-propelled artillery. Other variants include Light tank and Self-propelled artillery versions.
