E3 Coach: Redux

Description
E3 Coach in his full glory!

This is the "Fat/E3" Coach model that you have may have seen before in early gameplay footage for L4D2, or even in some of the screenshots on the store page for L4D2 to this very day.

This is a definitive version of that model, 1:1 shape wise, no corners cut here.
Coach is much larger with this model, and a little time spent playing with it you will understand why they reshaped his model before release.
Aside from his body, his head is also slightly different, it's larger, especially around the neck, but it is also missing that signature lean backwards that Coach's retail head has.
The "E3" version of the model's head also uses the older head shape with differently shaped eyes, and slightly different teeth position. To compliment this, this version of the mod uses the old facial flex set.

Some places where edits were made was updating the older models UV's to match the retail Coach UV's, this allows for retexture support.
The gloves and shoes do however use a separate texture however as the mesh topology for them is the most different, the gloves were actually borrowed from Francis' at this point in development.

Features of this mod include...
Retexture support. (The gloves and shoes use a seperate texture but can be reskinned.)
Cuba's jiggly attachments.
A jiggly holster. (As per all my L4D2 survivor mods.)
Old facial flexes. (Thanks to Cuba for setting up the head's for this latest update)
1:1 retail facial wrinkles. (Unlike TLS... oops.)
Possibly more I've forgotten...

E3 ellis mod (if it happens) is probably only gonna feature one thing thats missing in both E3 reveal trailer and some of the clips in the intro, his back 2d hair.

his holster keeps randomly spazzing out at times, I don't know if this is something others are experiencing or aware of

Hostility, no, no, no man, it's passion, like you said, that's what people's hobbies are on the internet isn't it, we all have some amount of passion.
And you make a good point that there are various improvements made such as to the viewmodels, and these are all changes which could have been nothing more than workshop mods published from each of the modders who helped respective workshops.
There's no ignoring the wasted opportunity of being handed such an update though, and the modders who were given this opportunity preferring to make strides to add their already existing content to the game rather than fix long standing issues and inconsistencies.
Everyone has their own points of contention though, it sounds to me like it's a non-issue to you, much like a closed road is an non-issue to someone who doesn't own a care.
I care though, L4D2 is a game that's bought me much enjoyment, that's why I'm here after all. :steamhappy:

To me, L4D2 feels more uniform after TLS, there have been many fixes to the general graphical inconsistencies the game previously had (notably varies bugs relating to the viewmodels)

is L4D2 a marginally worse game since TLS for you? and if so, does it relate to gameplay changes, newly introduced bugs, if there is a change they did do that irks me, it's using some of Zoey's beta voice lines which don't sound anything like her final voice actress, the earlier Coach lines (which I assume were done before Coach's character was finalized) aren't much of a deal breaker, although the mic quality is a bit different which is offputting

why does this anger you, why does the "beta" make you this upset, are the people that talk about it constantly obnoxious? welcome to the wider web, where most people's hobby is their character

it's such a non-issue that I genuinely don't understand this, hostility? I don't know, you and a bunch of other mods have for TLS

Haha yeah, you're damn right, it is full of inconsistencies, even more so since the update, it would have been nice if given that opportunity the people who's hands it rested in they took the initiative to make it better, don't you think? Or is there no point in trying to do a good thing, that doesn't seem to have been a thought that crossed their minds, too focused on adding what they wanted.
But you asked do people really prefer the beta, I would have to answer they most certainly do, how else do you explain purposefully re-introducing inconsistencies.

Wow, big deal, the destruction of the Library of Alexandria up in this bitch, L4D4 is already chalk full of varies inconsistencies as are all Valve game, the explosion effect is a bit confusing sure, not as if the Boomer's vomiting attack animation playing before the actual affect is applied
Despair  [author] 5 Jan, 2024 @ 2:57pm
@Victor, I mean, did you see the update, they re-enabled amongst other things, the CS:S guns and uncut a whole slew of animations, the L4D1 beta Boomer gibs were turned on by default too, which gives the Boomer smoke as though he was an explosive which is how he was all the way back in the L4D1 beta when his explosion actually did damage to the survivor, instead of him just being swollen to the point of popping he's now an explosive device.
If people didn't think the beta was better though we certainly wouldn't have that.

@greekgod, Nah, I don't think he ever had Bill's scale, it was just a bit of a gag mod, the only serious part of it is that some people might think he looks too big now with this version.

did coach still had bill scale during pax 09 build?
