Description
Venture through the dark and derelict underground sectors of City 17 in gm_exordium.

Introduction

gm_exordium is the remodeled version of the City 17 Underground in Half-Life 2: Episode One, featuring many unlit areas, ruined underground tunnels, and a collapsed parking complex with some areas holding Antlion Nests. The map has the following features:

  • AI Ground and Air Nodes for all in-bound (and some out-of-bound) areas
  • Minor AI navigation improvements
  • Minor audio improvements
  • Detailed lighting effects
  • Cubemap reflections
  • A functional Combine Forcefield in the Combine Mine
  • Combine Forcefields that Combine Soldiers can pass through
  • 3 Functional Antlion Nest Spawners located across the collapsed parking complex
  • A small vent system in the underground tunnels
  • Unique soundscapes
  • Dev Room (For use with toggling certain events; located underneath the middle of the map)
  • Hidden easter eggs

Note: This map does not require any games to be mounted.

For the Dev Room, there are three buttons. Two can be toggled:
  • The left button is the "Antlion Spawner." It toggles the Antlions to spawn from the burrows.
  • The middle button toggles the Combine Forcefield that is located in the middle of the Combine Mine.
  • The right button plays one of the soundtracks from Half-Life 2: Episode One.

Conclusion

This map took some time making. I pushed the editor and engine limits to the point where I could no longer add on to most areas due to a risk of overflow. The Combine Alphabet font used in this map is not owned by me. If you have any questions or concerns, please do ask.

@Yeetus_Feetus I do have plans on developing more maps, yes. Though I am currently working on other unique Garry's Mod projects that I hope to release by the end of the year.

This is an amazing piece of work, and i cant say anything bad about the map, Although, are you (the creator) planning to make moew maps? as this is really cool and i also enjoyed gm_cessation

An amazing map! I love the half life 2 maps you combined into it. I really appreciate the small details like the combine security cameras! great job and keep up the amazing work!

I'm really curious. For some reason after a while of playing the map the soundscape just decided to layer the thunderstorm sound on top of the already playing one. I doubt this is intended since it's underground, and I don't think I have anything installed that would do that unintentionally to the map.

frosted regions in HL2 EP2 would be an excellent map especially for realism shooting videos
