Description
Brief:
Adds an additional button on the right click menu for nails / screws to convert to each others.

This spectacular mod allows you to quickly turn those pesky screws into useful nails, which are crucial to your survival in Project Zomboid. It is time to defend against the zombies with this amazing mod.


Description:
Are you tired of having excess amounts of screws in your inventory with barely anything to do with them?

Well you are in luck, this mod is for you. Welcome to my mod, Screw Screws!, or the original name "Turn Screws Into Nails (and vice-versa!)."

After researching online the different uses for screws, I came to realise that they are pretty abandoned and are only used for minor things, such as mods or cars. I also find countless posts complaining about excessively finding too many screws boxes and having nothing to do with them. I was also frustrated at seeing too many screws boxes and no nails boxes, so I made this mod to fix this issue.




Guide On How The Mod Works

  1. Have a nail or screw inside of your inventory.
  2. Right click on "Turn Nail Into Screw" or "Turn Screw Into Nail".
  3. This can also be done with the box variants too.


Compatibility
  • Works on SP (Singleplayer)
  • Works on MP (Multiplayer)

Coming Soon "THE OVERHAUL":
I'll eventually be updating this mod for B42 and overhauling it. As it is too much to code in to turn screws and nails to be used for every item, I will make it require some sort of tools (probably a screwdriver) to transfer it to each other, but will provide a negative of some sort, to prevent it being too overpowered. E.g., 2 screws for 1 nail.

I'm waiting for the full release of Build 42, but I wouldn't see why its already compatible.

On the comment about making screwdriver and screw the same as hammer and nail you probably just need to add a second recipe for each hammer and nail recipe

The game just has weird RNG spawns. Specifically it spawns a lot more screws then it does of nails, so thats why you probably found it more often.

Eventually I want to make this mod allow it so you can use nails and screws for anything that requires either, but it seems way too complicated to code in LOL.

I don’t know if it’s because of some mod I have installed, but I find myself short on screws more often than I do nails. Glad this mod works both ways!

It's probably possible to do, but I would have to find out how.
Also the fact that it probably wouldn't support modded usage either.
I am tempted to update it soon to require you to use a tool like a screwdriver or a hammer to turn it into each other.

I trying to find mod, where i can use screws and screwdriver for same thing as nails and hammer. This is closest i quess, but idk, its not much realistic, turning screws into nail without any tools os skills :/
