Description
READ THE DESCRIPTION
This composition adds a fully equipped and crewed USS Freedom supercarrier with various integrated features such as a Intraship Fast Travel System, Boat Davits capable of launching and recovering small boats, vehicle refit areas, boarding dock, arsenal, etc. (comments are included in the composition pointing out and explaining every feature)

Objects, aircraft, watercraft and crew have been placed as realistically as possible, based on multiple reference images and extensive research (compromises have been made in some places for the sake of gameplay usefulness; suggestions are welcome).

Composition Placement and Editing
Due to the large amount of different objects over a large area, some objects may be misaligned if you attempt to rotate the whole set. To minimize this (not perfect), press Backspace to hide the UI while rotating to boost performance of game engine calculations. Vertical adjustments are still possible and recommended as the composition tends to be placed a little high on the waterline. Otherwise follow the below guide by Anytature:

All elements of this composition have been neatly organized using layers and sub-layers to facilitate editing and visualization. For example: to remove all wheel chocks from aircraft you can simply delete their sub-layer.

Intraship Fast Travel System


This system was designed to allow access to previously inaccessible parts of the Ship such as the Boat Davits and Stern Dock. It also links several hatches and doors across the Ship in order to allow moving across several sections without having to cross the flight deck.

The system was designed with immersion and detail in mind, full with sound and visual effects. To use simply approach and look at a door / hatch with a green directional sign beside it and use the appropriate Hold Action from the action menu (default hold action time is 5 seconds) - signs will appear in the same order as on the action menu.

A main hatch / HUB is available in the ship's island (hatch marked with stairs going down) that allows access to the most important parts of the ship (port and stern davits, and starboard and stern catwalks). Other doors / hatches have more limited destinations and to go from point A to point B using the system may require walking between sections - this is to simulate having to walk the ship, instead of being able to teleport instantly to any chosen area. The hold action timer, visual effects duration and audio effects also help to simulate this.

Flight Deck Configuration
In this configuration (more configurations are planned with additional features), the flight deck is configured for Rotary Wing Operations only with 3 UH-80 Ghost Hawks and 1 MQ-12 Falcon available for use. All Fixed Wing Aircraft are locked by default, as all catapults are not operational. This can easily be changed by moving or deleting aircraft and unlocking via attributes.

Performance
This is a large composition with hundres of objects + entities. As many objects as possible are set as simple objects, and all objects and entities are dynamically simulated by default. Adjust Dynamic Simulation settings for your scenario, and make sure to place the Carrier far away from the action to save performance for your mission. It is recommended to use the Ship as a staging area / mission HUB only (although ship defenses are fully operational if need be).

Dependencies
Depedencies were cut as much as possible, however compromises had to be made in order to achieve the desired look. Nevertheless, the composition is still usable without the required mods (all units and vehicles use vanilla classes):
  • CBA3: requirement for pretty much everything else.
  • 3den Enhanced: unsure if actually needed, but probably needed when placing down the composition and building the scenario with it (not needed for playing the scenario with the composition in use).
  • O&T Expansion Eden: various objects used, they will be missing if placed without the mod.
  • PLP Containers: only forklifts used, they will be missing if placed without the mod.
  • Arma 3 Aegis - Development Branch + Western Sahara CDLC: Stable branch will likely work too; Compatibility Data Pack for Non-Owners of CDLC will also work; several objects and equipment used, they will be missing if placed without the mod.
  • US Equipment Pack by Abb0tt: almost all units in composition use equipment for this mod (essential to achieve the correct look), units will be missing gear if placed down without the mod (units can easily be reverted to using their default gear by right clicking on them in 3den).

Disclaimers
Tested in SP and locally hosted MP with no other players. Not tested in dedicated servers and with other players. Please let me know if something does not work in MP.

There are still some improvements to be made and errors that were overlooked at the time of release. These will be addressed eventually and the composition will be updated.

All aircraft will close their canopies at mission start as seen in the video, despite all the screenshots showing themwith their canopy open (this was due to dynamic simulation and player character position while in camera mode).

Additional versions with different flight deck and boat configurations, and new features are planned. The USS Liberty is also planned.

Sometime in the future, I will be making a new version of this with some fixes, as well as with most most if not all depedencies cut, along with with some less visible props removed for better performance. Along with 2 new similar projets for 2 other ships.

Yes, they are shown to be empty. Also the Falcon is missing in both areas. Rear m2 turret is inside the boat rack, causing the turret to get destroyed. Also one of the missiles rack behind the island is floating a lil' bit.

Could use some help troubleshooting something, can't figure out if the issue is just on my end. If anyone is willing.

When you place down the composition, are the autonomous weapons showing as empty or BLUFOR?

The composition has been updated with one new feature added - a static UAV station in the Island of the ship.

Also improved performance, replaced all non-vanilla unit classes with vanilla ones for better compatibility for those who do not own WS CDLC, and tested in local hosted MP.
