[WOTC] 'DUSK' Wwise MMS Music Pack

Description
THIS MOD REQUIRES WWISE MMS AND (VERY) SIMPLE EXTRA INSTALLATION STEPS IN ORDER TO WORK!

Mod info:

This is a Wwise MMS version of Unslain Dragon's DUSK MMS music pack. Since Wwise MMS and regular MMS are completely different from a modmaking perspective, this mod has been built from the ground up using the original mod's audio files, but nothing else. Being a Wwise MMS music pack, it requires extra user input in order to work.

"But why would i use this if the original pack doesn't need extra installation steps and already works?"

The original pack "works", yeah, but it sucks. This is NOT Unslain's fault: it's MMS's fault. It's bad for various reasons, but ESPECIALLY in WOTC: Music freezes when the game itself lags (this isn't a thing in vanilla and this is worse in loading screens, sometimes the music freaks out), sometimes vanilla music takes over, Wotc music ALWAYS plays in the background over modded music (this is specially evident on Lost missions), sometimes music just doesn't play AT ALL, music takes a while to load... Anyway, Wwise MMS is better, faster, stronger but definitely not harder. It's just better, period. Try it yourself and you'll understand this.

Install instructions:

1. Subscribe to this mod, Wwise MMS and regular MMS. Do NOT use the original DUSK music pack with this mod.

2. Go inside the mod's Wwise Banks folder (steamapps\workshop\content\268500\3010781657\Put inside CookedPCConsole).

3. Copy the folder's content to your Wotc CookedPCConsole folder (Documents\My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\CookedPCConsole).

4. Done.

Notes and issues:
  • You CAN use other Wwise MMS music packs as well as regular MMS music packs along with this.
  • If this song or any other WWise music pack doesn't play, delete your configs folder.
  • Some fade-in transitions are missing. I know about this but can't fix it. This is really minor and you probably won't notice.
  • I tried to make this pack as close to the original as possible but do expect minor differences. The mod making process for regular and Wwise is completely different and as mentioned before this was done from the ground up.
  • The same issues mentioned in the Wwise MMS workshop page apply here.

Special thanks:
  • Nintendoeats for creating Wwise MMS, but ESPECIALLY for all the help along the way. He walked me through so many things, updated his mod with fixes just so my mod could work and even added functionalities just for me. I cannot express how much patience this man had with me and i don't know if i would had in his place.

  • Unslain Dragon for creating the original DUSK music pack. As mentioned, i used his mod's audio assets (which were already fit for XCOM), this really streamlined the process and saved hours of work. Aside from that, he acted as a beta tester for the music pack: Reported serious bugs, missing songs and provided overall feedback. He also introduced me to DUSK with his mod, which means a lot to me.

That's why it doesn't work. You need AML. Please google "xcom 2 AML"

Sorry to asking again, but what is AML? I don't know much about modding things.

1) Use AML
2) Enable this mod, regular MMS and Wwise MMS
2) Clean config files
3) Launch the game 2 times
4) Select the vanilla WOTC soundtrack from the main menu, not the TLP ones

Glad you liked it! Be sure to check other music packs made by Unslain. I've ported his MW2 pack to Wwise too.

Forgot to award this and give a comment. One of the best track setups for Xcom easily.

I just reinstalled the mod from here and it's working on my end. Did you follow the installation steps carefully? You must place the mod's banks inside your WOTC CookedPcConsole folder. If you did everything correctly, clean your config files then launch your game twice. If it still doesn't work, feel free to add me so we can talk by DM.

This mod does not work. Nothing plays, its silent, everywhere.
