The BLZ-169 Ambusher Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) is a highly adaptable and heavily armed platform designed to support ground forces in various combat situations. Sharing many characteristics with the BLZ-259, the BLZ-169 offers enhanced offensive capabilities while providing protective measures to safeguard its crew and transported infantry.

Operated by a skilled crew of three, the BLZ-169 IFV maintains the same efficient synergy among its members. The driver expertly maneuvers the vehicle, ensuring rapid and precise movements on the battlefield. The commander takes charge of commanding the IFV, leading the crew, and overseeing communication through the onboard radio system.

However, the primary role of the weapons operator has been transformed into a dedicated gunner. This gunner operates the powerful light autocannon positioned atop the vehicle's turret, providing the BLZ-169 with substantial firepower for engaging both ground and aerial threats. The autocannon is capable of devastating suppressive fire against enemy infantry and light vehicles, bolstering the IFV's role as a force multiplier on the battlefield.

Additionally, the BLZ-169 IFV is equipped with two missiles, each possessing a range of 3 kilometers. These missiles serve as a potent anti-armor option, enabling the vehicle to engage heavily armored targets or tanks from a safe distance, further enhancing its versatility in combat scenarios.

The turret houses 100 rounds in a drum, while an additional 400 rounds are stored in the hull drums. These ammunition reserves ensure sustained firepower during intense engagements, providing continuous support to friendly infantry units.

To enhance its defensive capabilities, the BLZ-169 IFV is equipped with slat armor. This type of passive armor system is designed to protect against certain types of threats, such as high-explosive (HE) and high-explosive squash head (HESH) shells, as well as certain shaped charges and RPGs (Rocket-Propelled Grenades). The inclusion of slat armor significantly improves the vehicle's survivability on the battlefield.

Despite its formidable armor and offensive capabilities, the BLZ-169 IFV maintains the capability to transport infantry. The hull drums that replace three troop seats reduce the vehicle's carry capacity slightly, but the IFV can still transport a respectable number of troops into and around the combat zone.
